How to add accent thread to custom rod build
OMG GET THOSE RODS In BACK UP TOP!!! Your killing Karl
Bad design from sailfish for rod holder
It’s insane how much fish is down deep
👏🏼🤟🏼
Thanks bud. Hope you got some fish down in Aruba!
So awesome
If your in Australia use sellys Araldite its strong and lasts
Where exactly is this?
Two different spots on musky and south branch
Cool ! Now you only have yourself to blame if you fall on your ass. I also heard that Gorilla Glue works good on the threads before tightening them up.
Nice catch!
Great video are u in new jersey?
Yes, NJ
Great Times with Great Friends!!!
That’s was awesome
A lot of people like multi-piece fly rods for convenient travel. The rod box on my boat can hold my 7 1/2 foot casting and spinning rods. I've built rods for decades, mostly casting and some spinning rods. It's time for a new fly rod, but won't go beyond 2 piece.
Thanks for this informative video. I enjoyed watching it. I have one quick question. Did you also wrap thread at the points where the pieces come together?
No, only where the guides are. You could though if you wanted
Very good video, thanks!!!!
Thanks for posting, seems not quite hard and very fun, wonder why so few people attempted it. I plan to build mine with bamboo, this could be handy.
Definitely not super hard! You can do it !
You needed a net for that little guy.. 1;58 I'll be coming up for the back drops...
The river was ripping there after a dam release. You will see when you fish it. Definitely easier with a buddy and a net. Good luck and have fun!
Unreal watch
Great video! Leaving a like to support your channel!
Thanks!
Sick giraffe
Nice fish guys
I’m going to Lowe’s Or Home Depot. Bout $5 later, done n done. I like the boots, but not forking out $100 on studs that will be lost. I’ll do that on flies 😂😂😂😂
Very nice , and advise on how best to get the line to coil, I can get it to work , it snaps back after the first couple of twist?
Depends on the size of the line. Just hold it so it doesn’t twist back
Only issue with this way is if the line is too thick for the eye you’re screwed
Yes you have to base your hook size off the line you’re using. 9/10 times it works fine
Hi That’s a real talent you have there. Great watching you make this rod from the bare bones as it were. Amazing
Very clever, thanks
Simms is a rip off, $34.95 for 10 star cleats and you need twenty do do the job as they specify, 10 starcleats per shoe. that comes to 3.50 each cleat not including tax and shipping. Hey, forget about it I am not buying anything Simms again.
Temu app
Yeah man I know. Definitely expensive. I’m sure there’s other alternatives if you go to Home Depot and get creative. The boot itself is nice though.
Does the tag end on the left go into the loop on the right same for the other side
Not sure exactly what you’re asking. But if you’re talking about the tag end through the loops then the same side.
Sorry I know the video quality is no good. I might end up posting a better one now that I got better with how to film and upload stuff
not sure where your located but im right in nepa, I run up all the time for salmon and steelhead if your ever interested. Also fish the Lackawanna for trout
Thanks dude. I only get up there a few times a year. Tight lines!
Vidio péssimo cortando o foco 😅😅😅
Sorry!
Wow nice work
You can eat them. But they don't really have any "meat" or taste like anything. Where I'm from people sautee these in maragrine as a snack. Myself am not a fan.😅
But... why?
He uses them as fish bait.
Yeah definitely not eating them
I salted mine and vacuumed sealed then freeze them . They will last for a long time
Thanks for the video! Love my boots. Quick tip* a drill bit holder is 1/4” so no need for a socket adapter and socket if all you guys have is a bit holder, just remove Phillips tip and go for it.
Looks like a Northern/Virelle Crayfish species. Where was it seen?
Round valley reservoir in NJ
@reelfishnetwork Thanks. I am looking at various venues to catch Crayfish they taste great and are an excellent nutritious food.
Looks like a big ole piece of bait!
I have these freestones and I even used aquaseal on screws like Simms says you should and I shed loose an aluminum cleat just about every other time I go out. The sole is not up to the task of holding screws properly.
I lost 2 cleats in total after some hard use. It’s the ones mid sole they don’t seem to hang on there as well I’ve noticed
Thank you very much for your comment. I was wondering if blue Loc-Tite or something would work...but AquaSeal sounds great.

Do you sell rods ?
Hey man. No I don’t. I think it would be a fun hobby to do that down the road though if I get good enough
why not just get korkers boots?
That would be another option
Because korkers boots are garbage and fall apart within a month
I bought Korkers and loved them but had to stop wearing them because they run narrow and with my wide feet by the end of the day my feet were killing me. I sold them to a fellow and he didn't make sure the soles were installed properly and lost one in a mucky area on a stream.
If you plan on releasing the trout, you should avoid touching them at all costs. A net would have been useful.
Yes thanks didn’t have one that day. I wet my hands first and it was right back in the water.
Can't catch fish when there's 8-10 inches of ice on lakes and rivers, LOL
Always like Pickeral ! Well done !
Thanks bud
Very cool, I need to start making so more content as fishing season starts to heat up again. Just went out for largemouth bass recently though and that was cool.
Thanks man. You should
I am a fan, looking forward to more videos.
How do you attach the hooks??
The same way you would put a sinker on, put the loop through the eye of the hook put the loop around and pull it down
Do these boots NEED the stars / studs? I'm looking at ordering a pair and want to know if I need to order these as well
Depends on where you are fishing. Where I go is big slippery rocks so they’re definitely required for traction. You can always buy them and give them a try before purchasing the studs
You should try mullica river last time i catch 35 fishes in 3 hours
I like the T knot, but this appears to be more pronounced with keeping the hook away from the line. It appears there may not be a need for a float anymore or a float may not be strong enough to keep the twisted line up. Thank you!!
Damn crazy craw. Never seen that type there
How would the top hook get tied on just like the first?
Yes exactly
