This show was performed at the USA West Convention at the Handley Hotel in San Diego, CA in August of 2022. This show featured three dances choreographed by Calvin Campbell and one that he brought to the Colorado Dancers. #1 Bolt the Door (six couple rectangular formation), #2 Pretty Peggy (3 couple contra dance), #Douple3 Star Contra (duple improper dance), #4 Steppin' Out (round dance game).

That's not the barn dance I was taught at school when I was a kid........and I'm from Lancashire.
The video is that of the barn dance as documented on the Lloyd Shaw website and danced at a youth camp. A version of this dance was printed in Northern Junket in October 1978. It appears to be a Traditional Mixer from Northern England. The modernized version adjusts the handedness for a more familiar and smooth action. Can you describe the dance as you learned in as a kid?
