Great explanation, thank you!
If I have a servo motor with a built in brake, will the MSF instruction make the brake disengage thus allowing the motor to spin by hand? Or Does the MSF instruction strictly only remove the 24VDC going to the brake thus engaging the brake every time? Also, if I were to perform a MAM instruction onto a servo motor that does NOT have a brake, upon completion of the instruction will the motor hold it’s position even if I were to try to turn the shaft by hand? Or is “maintaining” position strictly a feature of servos with built in brakes? I would appreciate if you guys could answer these questions, as I am trying to learn but don’t really have access to these stuff at home to play and test with
Thanks for watching. Here are the answers for you: If the motor has an integrated holding brake, then it is automatically engaged when the MSF instruction is executed. When and MSO instruction is executed the brake output is turned on automatically and sends 24VDC to the holding break to release the brake. If you want to release the brake without doing an MSO then you may do so by changing the “Mechanical Brake Release” parameter to “Released”. This parameter can be found in the drive parameters menu of the axis properties. When an MSO instruction is executed, the servo disengages the brake and closes the position control loop and transitions from the “stopped” state to the “running” state. In the “running” state the servo will maintain position even if the shaft is not turning. It maintains position by applying current and enabling the position control loop built into the drive. The MAM instruction will move the servo to the new defined “commanded position” and then the servo will electrically maintain the new position. The brake is not used at all as long as the servo is in the “running” state. Servos without holding brakes will maintain position when they are in the “running” state. However, in the “stopped” state, servos without a holding brake will spin freely (if spun by hand) and servos with a holding brake will be prevented from turning. The holding brake prevents movement in applications such as vertical ones that may move on their own if not stopped mechanically.

In case my PLC cannot set default gateway, can NAT be done? Thank you.!
Thanks for watching. The answer to the question is no. If you set the gateway in the device on the private side of the NATR then you can’t use the NATR.
With that time were you controlling or simulating the speed of the motor or just a timer?
Hellow Eric hanley, you are a master. I would like to ask a question. If I have a workstation in Factory Talk View SE, do I have a tag limit? Do I need a license with a limited number of tags?
Hello, No FactoryTalk View SE and ME are based on the number of screens and not the number of tags. Please reference this link for more information. Thanks for watching! www.rockwellautomation.com/en-us/products/software/factorytalk/operationsuite/view/factorytalk-view-site-edition.html

How do I update to a version that I dont have of View Designer?
View Designer - You need to download the corresponding Studio 5000 version which include the appropriate View Designer installation. Rockwell has a table in a tech note for all versions but below is table of most common: Logix Designer View Designer 31.02.00 5.02 & 6.01 32.00.01 4.03 & 5.02 32.04.00 5.02 & 6.01 33.00.02 6.01 & 7.02 33.03.00 7.02 & 8.02 34.03.00 7.02 & 8.02 35.00.01 7.02 & 8.02 36.00.02 8.02 & 9.02
amazing video, just i Have a cuestion, I have the problem than you mencioned in the minute 4.10 seg, how can i fix this problem, actualy the error is 2053. screen switching controlled by external source i really preaciate your answer
Look at the Global Connections tab for the Current Screen Number System Tag. This PLC tag is something other than 0 which means the PLC is in control of navigation. You need to determine if PLC code needs to be changed during your issue, by writing a 0 to that tag and allowing the HMI to control its own navigation again.
@@ESECOTV the global tag is diferent to 0, actually de value is 12, but, could be damaged the logic program if i change the tag to 0?

How to force analog inputs and outputs please
Hello, Since analog signals are scaled, you can simply create additional logic that writes directly to the output, or writes to the scaled value of the input directly after your standard code. This code would need to be removed during normal operations but many people tag these additions as commissioning and leave the dead code for testing later on.
how to view 2 array of word into double integer?
Hello, To view data within an array, you must first create the array using the dimension column. Then navigate to the global variables page within CCW and view the project values as well as live values and initial values. Live values can only be seen while online with the controller.
You can define something with more acronyms...
