Nice video, wish I could catch the trailing unit numbers. I think these (46) Flats carrying (3) BAE Caiman MRAP (Mine-resistant ambush-protected) vehicles each are possibly heading to UAE as part of Excess Defense Articles program 556M sale for 4,569 MRAPS approved on Jul-30-2020. Most likely originating from Sierra Army Depot @ Herlong, CA.
ALC-42 The total contract amount for 75 units is (USD 850 million) The additional 50 units ordered in June 2022 are (USD 1.15 billion) The total contract amount for 125 units is (USD 2 billion). (USD 11.27 million) - (USD 22.97 million) per unit

Great catch of the Stack Hoods after exiting the tunnel, my friend!
Thank you!
@@norcalrailfan101 You're Welcome!
I love the way we hear, then see the light, and finally the locomotive exits the tunnel giving us a great view of the entire train as it curves by!
thank you, appreciate the comment!
is the capitol corridor ever gonna recive?
as of now no, so far its only for the San Joaquins
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💪💪💪💪
Great looking New Cabcar!!!
All of yall saying the cab car looks good? No it’s ugly as hell and they could’ve at least used the front part of a ALC42 and make it look good

have a good day
There was train empty grainer with cp kcs symbol gmghet bound 4 Idaho late this afternoon kcs 4109 lead grainer to East Port Idaho in Sandpoint Idaho
Awesome 👍
THE PROPHECY IS TRUE THE CAB CAR IS REAL!!!
Yep, it’s mainline testing on the San Joaquins on May 28th
One of the San Joaquins cab cars is testing at the ACE Stockton Yard. This was announced by a member of the crew operating the cab car for testing. Testing will be non-mainline and in the ACE yard until tomorrow (testing started yesterday, 5/15/24).
These were unused on the line. They place 1 locomotive in the front, 6 Venture cars, and 1 locomotive in the rear. These cab cars are still testing.
the cabcars have not been delivered yet so they have not started testing
One of the locomotives is actually an NPCU which is just an old locomotive with just cab controls. The inside is gutted out. The NPCU controls the locomotive on the other side remotely to push the train “backwards.”
Would you be able to take another trip to the Siemens Mobility facility at some point? I'd love to see what's hanging out outside like that Venture cab car you recorded last time.
ill try and head down there over the weekend if i can
@@norcalrailfan101 Thatd be great thank you! Awesome catches btw 👍
@@MrMarshmallow26 hello, went over there and didnt see anything new other then just amtrak ALC-42s
@@norcalrailfan101 Aww, sorry there wasn't much to see, but thanks so much for checking out what's at the facility! Wish I could do it but I'm way on the other side of the states lol
@@MrMarshmallow26 no worries, I like going out there to see if there's anything new anyway. I'll upload if I see something new there
Still don't understand why they didn't go with the original concept art paint scheme. www.google.com/search?q=siemens+venture&tbm=isch&chips=q:siemens+venture,g_1:san+joaquin:IccA2ogcobI%3D&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjzuYq78JeEAxVdETQIHbS6DnIQ4lYoA3oECAEQOw&biw=1583&bih=765#imgrc=mNUqKXB1I53gFM
why would they need more cab car if they been taking the old F40PH locomotive and removing the diesel motor out of them and turn them into a baggage car/ cab car. Amtrack should do the samething with their old Genesis series loco as well.
Because Amtrak is trying to create a full train set instead of using old equipment as cab cars now, that way the cab car matches the rest of the train. These cab cars also offer extra seating not just enabling push pull operations.
👉 P R O M O S M
Looks pretty cool I wonder what will happen to the NPCU cabbage cars? What are Amtrak plans for the NPCU cabbage units? I’ve heard rumors that one is being converted to run on hydrogen
If there’s any non-intercity lines they run on they’ll probably stay on those. Airo is only taking over intercity services.
@@MrMarshmallow26 OK I gotcha
That cab car looks good. I can't wait until the northeast corridor gets the venture cars. I'm sure the Keystone will have something similar but in different colors.
The Keystone will receive Airo sets in Phase VII paint instead of San Joaquins paint. The cab car will be based off of the ALC-42 design instead of the SC-44 design.
can’t even wait for amtrak airos to be out

Yeah they do

@@lainetuason1732 exactly!
Happy holidays great night shoots
You too
can’t wait for these to enter service in the San Joaquin’s line
They also need to be on the Amtrak Surfliner and Amtrak Capitol Corridor, while the Amtrak Cascades is in the D Airo sets
Rare
Holy crap! they could have made the paint flow so much better from the cab to the coach. Like, they soo could have borrowed the dots from the IDTX chargers or done something differently using them!! That straight line looks really bad.
That would look VERY confusing. Would it be IDTX or CDTX? I feel it looks fine but I respect your opinion.
@@MassRailfan124 I see your point, but I just think they could be been much more creative than just an instant change of color from the blue to the silver.
Why reuse the paint? It gives CalTrans a chance to make San Joaquins stand out from other routes. Paint also takes less effort than actually building the rolling stock. That’s the same reason why IDTX/Midwest uses that dot scheme instead of normal Amtrak paint. It makes the state-supported routes unique. Same with Cascades.
@@MrMarshmallow26 I think it'd _actually_ stand out if the paint design included a little more than a straight line from the car to the cab. Left the impression that whoever designed this wanted to make the SJ more unique through lazy design, unless that paint's not final.
@@videomaker133 You don’t want to overdo the design either. Personally it looks fine the way it is, I like the alternating blue and yellow along the bottom. The only thing I dislike is that the blue at the cab itself was supposed to curve more in the original design like the locomotive, wonder what happened there.
Siemens may have to start hiring lobbyists (if they don't have them already).
I don't like Dominos.
Can Pacific Surfliner ordered a 🆕 Venture Cars? Because Pacific Surfliner will ordered 2500 and 3300 New Venture Cars for Amtrak Pacific Surfliner
what the hell are you talking about
😂😂😂😂
Uh-oh. The "rock fence" is falling apart.
Wouldn't mind seeing more of these throughout California
They were supposed to have the first trainset go into service on the San Joaquins this summer but now they’re saying it’ll be in mid-late October. Gonna miss the dining car. I talked to one of the attendants about it and he didn’t even know they were being replaced and didn’t believe me until another employee told him.
They're in service now!
@@TohaBgood2 Yup, got to ride on them two weeks ago for the first time! I really enjoyed the experience.
Nice but it looks kinda odd that it has SC-44 charger front end of the new cabcar other than the ALC-42 front end!
Yeah, I wish that they went with the new ALC-42 look instead of the SC-44. But this is an old order that predates the ALC-42 look. Hopefully any future California Chargers and cab cars will switch to the ALC-42 face. It's much nicer looking than the Vectron-derived "European truck" look of the SC-44.
Probably because it’s not an Airo set specifically, I’m thinking this is part of a separate order and just because CalTrans has SC-44s already.
sweet new look!
Brand new
NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOO
Why? These things are awesome! Everyone loves them on Brightline and Railjet in Europe! They're good premium trains.
@@TohaBgood2 its the end of the npcus and a lot of us really like it. these things are ugly

Dang not to take away from Caltrans’ new cab car but I see more via rail cars behind it and we JUST got one train set just arrived in Canada yesterday the 5th. Anyway I wish I could make a trip down there to see the facility myself. Most of North America’s new passenger fleet is coming out of this place including VIA Rail who runs through my hometown. I hope your local services start getting these soon. I hate for us Canadians to get all the good stuff before you guys.
