The second BBC documentary on the Rumble in the Jungle, this one from 2004. It covers some of the same ground as the 1994 documentary, but includes an interview of George Foreman which is new.
rumble in the jungle BBC 1994 doc

On the 20th anniversary of the Rumble in the Jungle, the BBC broadcast a documentary of the fight. In my opinion this is the best one, it includes interviews with the protagonists, but also with Ferdie Pacheco, Angelo Dundee, Don King etc. I could not find it on RUclips, so here it is. From my VHS tape.
Never Forget💪
17:52 - was it larry holmes sparring partner with Alu ?
"Ali was urinating blood for days afterwards" Wow didnt realize those bodyshots were doing so much damage. Probably the reason why Ali wasnt able to use his legs as much as his team wanted him to
How many of those starved and diseased little children over in Africa, could have been provided with all the clean water, clean food, medical treatment and education they needed, with those millions upon millions of dollars that so called "King" spent on fighting???
George Foreman was drugged in Zaire - Halloween night ... Dick Sadler gave him that water bottle (delayed Foreman's ring entrance 20 minutes for the meds to kick in) it worked ...
What a tactic from the so called greatest!! punch and hug and hug and hug!!!
Shut up you're under the feet of the greatest
Just Got Done Watching This Historic Fight On It's 50th Anniversary Today And To Just Say I Was Amazed Is A HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 On A Side Note Ali Was More Offensive Then I Thought And Most People Don't Point That Out 💯
What BBC means?
Big black coc*
All Ali's bouts were full of excitement. All the journalists all around the world had a field day each time Ali having press conferences, hearing thrash talks and poems by Ali . That's Ali . There no one boxer like him.
🗣️Ali👊🏾🥊🕺🏾👑Rip🤎
Not only the greatest, but the hardest also!!!!
Jake Paul is not the Greatest of all Time?🙂
Ali's left, right was so quick harry couldn't keep up, so he just talked crap 😂
George Foreman didn't recover from that knockout in the eighth from Muhammad Ali.
Not until he returned to boxing in 1987 after originally in 1977. 10 years out of boxing and he returned to win the Heavyweight championship of the world in 1994. One of the greatest achievements ever.
70 % of ali s punches was going backward ...insane
He’s my first love ❤️ No doubt he was the greatest of all time 🕰️ Mohammed Ali 🫡
Foreman was a formidable looking dude, just by his physical appearance alone, i don't see anyone else like not even Tyson, only Sonny Liston had the same scary presence like foreman imo
Ali landed so many right hand leads here, similar to what Schmeling did to Louis. Its only a matter of time if you keep landing those especially at heavyweight I don't care who you are.
i believe George won on points he dominated the fight.
Haha. He got knocked out
I never knew the back story to this fight until now. Especially that this was Gangster Donn King's first promotion. In 1974, I was shocked like everyone else about this fight. ABC showed this fight on Sat & Sun for the next 3 weeks & I watched EVERY rerun. THAT was how Unbelievable this fight was back then. Just learning that this was Donn King's debut promotion makes the fight less Unbelievable now. This was the 1st of Many Donn King fixed fights. Seeing this fight more objectively today, Foreman landed enough heavy punches in the 1st three rounds to knock Ali out. However, his punches simply didn't have the same power that they had in previous fights. THAT has Nothing directly to do with Ali, unless he was in on the fix. You heard how Foreman imported food & water from America because he was paranoid of getting poisoned. Well, it looks to me like they somehow drugged Foreman anyway. The idea that after several consistent fights, all of a sudden his punches lacked effective power against Ali is beyond believable. All the predictions back then were correct. Foreman should've destroyed Ali. It's only Ali's clown performance that distracted the public from the obvious truth.
Ali was and still the goat 🐐
And the blacks from A
RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE - 30/10/1974 - THE GREATEST FIGHT OF ALL TIME -!! 🥊🌟🥊
It is not understood how Foreman planned this fight, Ali gave him an advantage by leaning on the ropes... which was better and more comfortable for George. I always suspected that Foreman did not arrive in good shape to this fight, due to emotional problems with his wife... that played against him... there is something suspicious too... George never landed the right hand to Ali's head well, otherwise he would be easy prey. Strange fight.
May be you understimited Ali! You laser brain!
Foreman retired 3 years after this.
For 10 years as well.
What exactly made people think Ali was going to get hurt any worse than Frazier or Norton did?
True
Ali: 100 punches - Foreman: 1000 punches
The world could use more people like George Foreman. The worst moment of his life was the springboard to turn not only his entire attitude around but rise from the dead as a boxer and recapture the title at 46
Not only Ali was a Brilliant Boxer but also a Brilliant Master Thinker in the Ring
Correction, Ali was stripped of the WBA title for signing a rematch with Liston, but that was a cover for him associated with NOI. The WBC was in line to do the same but nobody in boxing circles respected the WBA champ ernie terrel. Later he was stripped of the WBC for draft issues.
Not true. Get it straight.
That ringside commentator was horrible. He said Ali was being punished tremendously to get an odd one in, and seconds before Ali KO'ed Foreman, he said Ali was so tired he could hardly lift his arms.
Bob Sheridan was amazing in that fight. Joe Frazier was at ringside saying Ali needed to get off the ropes. Literally right before the KO Sheridan said "maybe this is the strategy to let the man punch himself out" and within 10 seconds he was on the canvas. Go watch the American broadcast. It's as legendary as the fight itself to me.
Harry carpenter surprised to say that Ali did fight back at times!
@@SimpleManGuitars1973 The US commentary was great.
@@ewooll It indeed was🙂
@@SimpleManGuitars1973 How about the Jake Paul - Mike Tyson fight of 16th November 2024?🙂Is it also legendary?🙂
Rope A Dope: Ali avoided to get brutal head punches The other way around he could give Forman brutal head punches.
Ali made Goerge look like an amateur here amazing 😂❤
The Greatest.
Nobody thought Ali would win except Ali.
In my eyes the best sporting event since mankind. Muhammad Ali the greatest of all time.
In my eyes the best sporting event since mankind. Muhammad Ali the greatest of all time.
The best sporting event ever was not Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, 16th November 2024?🙂
Those were the times of boxing, unlike today... and say what you will about ali, but goddamn, the way he defeated foreman is absolutely incredible😮😮😮😮
And brilliant 😊
Amazing how a man can do what Ali did, no boxer after him will be able to be bigger than Ali...
Why does George Foreman to this day continue to refer to Ali as “Mohammed”? Ali’s first name was Muhammad and NOT Mohammed. To me, that is a sign of disrespect.
Maybe he does it on purpose just to get people talking like you are 💭
@@nickslade3978 I still think it is a sign of disrespect. George has never gotten over his loss to Ali and it shows in some of the comments he has made over the years.
Idiot
One word to describe Ali: GOAT.
Goat is an animal the um Greatest describe as being yes like God
@@shemereali551 God as in a fictitious character like Superman?
@@yourroyalhighness7662 God is Facts as in real the Almighty gets point blank period

@yourroyalhighness7662 Ali said Allah is God by him defeating george in Zaire it get no clearer than yes that point blank period
The one and only 5 punches Knockout.
Foreman accidentally took his sleeping pills instead of his vitamin tablets. Muhahaha
Great Documentary ! New edits with the original film. One of the biggest upsets in Heavyweight Boxing History helping to cement Ali amongst the Greats ! #Inspirational
More like it cemented Ali as the Greatest
Sorry but Ali is greatness
@@shemereali551 Ali is the Greatest?🙂Not Jake Paul?🙂
@MundiaKamau Jake is a snake
I don't believe that rope thing with Dundee cos u hear him say I was slapping him to stay o the ropes so another myth on that magical legendary fight rip the greatest muhammad ali 🥊🙏
Great Upload, superb documentary
Not hitting takes more energy away from you than hitting.
Great Upload Thank you, showcasing not just the skills of Ali and the power of Foreman but also the love that Dr Pacheco and Angelo had for Ali as well as the medias favoritism of Ali
Did they ?did not carless for the holmes fight !
I was 11 years old and watched this fight in Mt mom and dad's frontroom where I grew up , Ali was always one of my hero's and I was the only one who said he'd win.
george was drugged by his manager
