A STEP BACK IN TIME-PART 1, BRUNEL'S AMAZING 1859 SUSPENSION BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER TAMAR ON THE DEVON-CORNWALL BORDER, THIS SLIDE SHOW IS FROM 8 B/W NEGATIVES, SOME TAKEN FROM THE NEWLY OPENED A38 ROAD BRIDGE IN OCTOBER 1961.

Spotted 21/12/2024, landed for about 10 mins before being scared of by a couple of magpies and has not been back since. Maybe it's escaped from someone's menagerie.

1Z66 St Albans to York and 1Z52 London Kings Cross to York, two steam specials to mark the opening of the christmas market. Seen here at Loversall Carr junction, sadly like a lot of places getting very overgrown, so I would say by next summer this will be another location that will be thats not worth going to.

Is this place suitable for tripods? Also where is it located?
This is Kirk Sandall Station, just east of Doncaster on the line to Scunthorpe, Cleethorpes or Hull. You can set up a tripod but most trains pass through next to either edge of the island platform, this restricts the view for trains coming the other way to this one. The next Station up is Hatfield and Stainforth which is much better as you get the freight trains which turn north to Drax or York
Okay thanks. I thought 1Q86 doesn't go through Kirk Sandal?
Apologies, I've associated your question with the wrong video, this location is at Bessacarr, also nr Doncaster, but on the line to Lincoln, but disaster has struck here, a house building company has taken over this area and it is now fenced of with 7ft high spiked metal fencing, this happened last December, I am thinking of doing a RUclips video to show what's happened

Not sure I understand what you mean about GBRf? My employer supplied locos in good faith, I should know, I drove the first batch on to the railway myself.

Yes mainly 66's around here too but there are enough of the others scattered about to maintain an interest. We are starting to see a few more 69 movements, I have one for part two, thanks for your comments, Michael..
Cracking photos. I only had the pleasure of the 24’s & 25’s that were allocated to Longsight Diesel Depot; the strangest (but absolutely brilliant) journey being behind a pair of 25’s from Liverpool to Newcastle which were deputising for a failed 45.
