    My great grandparents surnames were Hone and they and my ancestors lived for centuries around the Oxfordshire and Warwickshire area and I was just wondering if this means they have any relation, whether distant or not with the Anglo-Irish Hone family who can trace their origins back to Samuel Hone from Marlborough. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

    You failed to mention the War of Independence, the Declaration of Arbroath, the Jacobite rebellion, or the Scottish Enlightenment. the breakdown of the Clan system but its endurance in Victorian times and into the 20th Century. Also, you mention the Highland Clearances but there was also the Lowland Clearances as well. The Scottish diaspora covered Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, NZ, and South Africa. Scots are very proud and stubborn. The important part in doing Scottish Genealogy is "Scotland is not England". Scotland has maintained separate laws on BMD/Property/Probates; and also its education system; the religious influence of the church or kirk; monetary notes and banking. The Census is administered separately as well as the recording of Vital Records is purely done in Scotland giving different BMD details compared to England/Wales.

Is the Family History Fun Basket the same as described in #1? In Facts and Fiction, is there a template for sample facts, fiction, and actions? • @angelleanderson4656
      @angelleanderson4656 2 года назад

      For the "“If, Then" Activity - To play this game prepare questions and answers from your family history. As a leader, have some “actions” in mind (jumping jacks, run in place, arm circles, etc.) and select one for a “true” and answer, and a different one for a “false” answer. Everyone stands in a circle and the leader calls out the ancestor’s information and each person decides if the statement is true or false and does that action. For example, a statement could be, “Great-grandpa Clark crossed the ocean when he was 17 years old.” Then the choices could be “turn in a circle 10 times if he did” or do “6 jumping jacks” if he didn’t. Everyone learns what really happened as the leader gives the correct answer.
