    Scusi ma perché queste macchine avevano un rullo cosi lungo? Per scrivere anche col foglio in orizzontale forse?

    • @oldtypewritersandcalculators
      @oldtypewritersandcalculators День назад

      Salve, una volta, e in particolare notai e avvocati, utilizzavano molto spesso i fogli protocollo per le loro pratiche, che venivano inseriti aperti, in modo da scrivere su tutti e due i fogli senza tirarli fuori, quindi per una larghezza di più di 40 cm. Ma i rulli di quelle dimensioni si potevano utilizzare anche per carpette, registri contabili, ecc, ed era un'esigenza piuttosto diffusa. Anche le macchine elettroniche da ufficio Olivetti serie ET avevano in dotazione standard un rullo di quelle dimensioni, visto che in una macchina meccanica si poteva cambiare il rullo, ma in una macchina elettronica no.

      Érdekes videó ! Utánanéztem , hogy jelenlegi munkahelyemen használtak-e ilyen számitógépet . Rátaláltam a vállalati hiradó 1986.novemberi számára ,amelyben cikk kőzli az új ,,számitástechnikai beszerzéseket ". Az egyik gép adatai egyeznek a videóban mondottakkal , de a cikk a gép márkáját nem nevezi meg . Viszont egy 1993.nyári szakmai gyakorlaton a munkahelyemen talán ilyen gépet láttam . Ám az ár ... 6 millió lira 1986/1987-ben kb. 4870 $-t vagy 240000 HUF-et ért (ehhez persze jőttek a kereskedelmi lánc árnővelései). Ez bizony akkor Magyarországon nagyon magas ár lett volna ... Igy tovább nyomoztam és egy régi szines magazin cikkéhez irt kommentáromat nézegettem . 32 év után alig birtam elolvasni , de arra utalt , hogy 1993-ban a szakmai gyakorlaton valójában egy Olivetti ETC 60 szővegszerkesztős irógépet láttam ( a szines magazin cikke a folyadékkristályos kijelzőjű ,,irógépcsodákról" szólt).Akiket megkérdeztem az Olivetti M24-ről , azok azt mondták , ez a géptipus igen ritka volt Magyarországon és inkább csak kipróbálás céljából vettek párat .Azért érdekes volt utánanézni !

    Boldog űnnepeket ! Kőszőnőm a videót ! A You Tube átnézése után úgy találtam , hogy néhány ,,Bambino" az 1950-es ,1960-as években eljutott Magyarországra .Kifejezetten magyar indexlappal és betűhengerrel ( a felső , piros betűs sorban megjtalálhatóak a magyar nyelvre jellemző í,ú,ü,ű,á,...,ó,ö,ő betűk) .Érdekelne : a ,,Bambino" igazi vagy csak a gyerekeknek szánt játékirógép volt ? Ha igazi irógép volt (ami lehetséges , hisz a DDR ismert volt praktikus-olcsó eszkőzeiről) akkor a profik percenként hány karaktert birtak vele legépelni ? Előre is kőszőnőm a válaszokat !

      @oldtypewritersandcalculators 12 дней назад

      Köszönöm Szilveszter Magyarországról. Keletnémet autó volt, így valószínű, hogy Magyarországon is elterjedt. Nagyon könnyű volt egyik nyelvről a másikra váltani a karaktereket, így könnyű volt magyarra fordítani őket. Nem derül ki, hogy a "Bambino"-t csak gyerekeknek szánták-e, a névből úgy tűnik, úgy gondolom, hogy a gyártás gyerekeknek indult, majd egy gazdaságos gépet igénylő piaci szektort töltött be, és egyszerű levélgépelési munkákra is használták. vagy ilyesmi, otthon vagy kis irodákban. A hasonló gépek, mint a Frolio vagy a Gundka, szintén professzionálisan használhatók, akkor miért ne ez is? A gépelési sebességről nincs adatom, de még a fenti gépeknél sem volt soha nagy, még a nem szabványos billentyűzet billentyűinek elrendezését is ismerve.

    I wanted to warn you and your viewers that WD40 should never be used on these vintage sewing machines. While it does initially loosen the mechanism, over time it breaks down and jams them up, which then becomes very difficult to remove as Singer manufactured these with such accuracy. It would be best to flood the joints with sewing machine oil to remove the WD40 before it breaks down. Jammed sewing machines can be fixed by dripping sewing machine oil on the joints and allowing it to sit, before attempting to move the mechanism. Repeat until it moves freely. I've done this to two Singers from the 1930s and 40s and it works beautifully. There are also several other points on the sewing machine which should be oiled. You can find a manual easily online if you look up the model. This one is probably a Singer 15 or similar. Similarly, you can wipe the machines down with a small amount of sewing machine oil to bring back the shine of the japanning and shellac. Silicone spray could again get into the mechanism and jam it up. Sewing machine oil is just great for these machines and will never cause harm, unlike wiping down with water or alcohol-based cleaning products which break down the shellac. I do love your idea of using the sewing machine to punch holes for a stencil. It reminds me of school when we used to sew like that on paper to practice our skills!

    FWIW we could still make electronic calculators like this, with each “register” brought out separately. But it has the same problem that the QWERTY keyboard has. People have gotten so used to doing it wrong that it would be slower to change. That, and the current year making keyboards and human input “obsolete.” Or at least they are trying to pretend it is.

    In the early 1970s, I worked in an accounting office in Los Angeles. We brought in a woman from a temporary agency. She brought her personal comptometer which was electrically powered and had 2 columns of keys for the cents in a dollar. She used that instead of one of our calculators. She used both hands, and, if the amount was $999.99 or less, was often able to enter the entire amount with one hand all at the same time, rather than typing it in one numeral at a time. For larger amounts, she used two hands. For a few things that the office required a printed tape for, she had to use an adding machine. An unusual office machine: In the USA construction industry, there were mechanical "comptometer-like" machines that used US Customary Measurements (feet and inches) down to 1/16th of an inch. Of course, it's probably still possible to find adding machines that use the pre-decimal British currency of pounds, shillings and pence.

The Speed increase of ENTER ( and Co. ) not being needed to do a calculation will pretty much be offset by the required travel move required to navigate the HUGE Keyboard since you can't reach every possible Number at the same time unlike with a modern Calculator ( or say the Numpad of a Computer Keyboard ). 似ていますが、Comptometer には特定のスタイルがあります。 しかし、おっしゃる通り、印刷されません。

    why instead of just pressing buttons dont you do a bit of simple math? like adding 50+50, 100-20 etc, all i see is button mashing

      Here I just wanted to show the sounds of the calculators. But I made also a video with 32 calculators doing the same calculation, you can find it here ruclips.net/video/dSEjFXM_CVs/видео.html

    Looks like a common, low-tier portable, the kind that would have been used by college students (even high school students who wanted the best possible grades on their writing assignments).

    Excellent video! An explanation of the idiosyncratic Bambino mechanism, and a truly invaluable history lesson, too, in under 5 minutes! More, please

      Many thanks for your comment, very kind. I bought another Bambino, brown colour, I hope to present it soon.
