Sydney has been looking for a way to introduce creativity in her classroom and contacted Cece about starting with Hyperscore. They cooked up a plan to follow Sydney over the year to see what process she has to use in order to start a successful Hyperscore unit. Sydney has begun using the checklist for teachers on our website, securing firewall privileges for our communications and account suppo...

We're trying them all, ZephyrysBaum! Recently discovered Flat.io and we might be hooked!!
Marionette is coming. Rewind the Box!
We see that you're into retro gaming. Glad you got to see our group composition from an old folk song, "My Grandfather's Clock". Did it make you think of Marionette? Not sure we want Marionette to come back after seeing the posts about it based on your comment!! : )
Thank you to our CTO, Peter Torpey, for writing this piece in 2022 to showcase the web-based update to Hyperscore. All Hyperscore pieces export to Midi programs like GarageBand and Finale for printing in standard notation using the arrow-down tool (3rd after title of the piece). Check out our website for more information about this fantastic composition program for anyone of any age with access to the web and a device! www.newharmonyline.org
amazing. thanks for sharing this concept. very unique
We agree that Ben is amazing! We hope to have a set of bird calls to use in composing with Hyperscore based on the work of Ben and the birders out there who recognize the beauty of bird song.
Oh boy this is only slightly embarrassing to find
You are one of the favorite composers we share with the new generation of Hyperscore users, Steevee! Check out the new web-based version of Hyperscore on our website, www.newharmonyline.org, or our RUclips channel, ruclips.net/channel/UCSccCX2HRqavoJ5-yvUI6qAdiscussion. We'd love to hear from you! this is just adorable. So glad that we learned the folk song "My Grandfather's Clock" as part of the composing process. I mentioned it to a friend recently and she said that her mom sang it often.
Glad you enjoyed this piece--it was fun to make!
at the time we were making this, I wasn't sure it worked. Glad I listened again, because you can definitely hear the rhythmic differences as we divide and subdivide the beat! The green and red section is my favorite with the rising and falling sequences. Really like the ending that is a reverse of the introduction. We started with a whole note and ended with a whole note. Sounds complete to me!
It was a simple concept to subdivide the beat, but it worked really well through combining motifs. Thanks for the review!
What's melting? I can't wait to play this game based on that music!
The inspiration for this piece came from the sound of icebergs melting, as heard in this Guardian article: www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2020/apr/09/sound-of-icebergs-melting-journey-into-antarctic-jonathan-watts-greenpeace To watch the composition process of how we arrived at this piece from the initial sound, check out the full workshop recording here: ruclips.net/video/-ZwFaDohr-A/видео.html Or you can read the blog about it on our website! newharmonyline.org/news/the-melt-composing-a-song-from-an-audio-prompt/
Wow… blast from the past 😅
This is the Director of Education, Cecilia Roudabush, for the new non-profit web-based version coming out in 2022. I piloted Hyperscore in the early 2000s and taught it for 18 years at the junior high level. Your piece blew me away. How old were you when you wrote it?! Can I interview you and blog/tweet/etc about it? Contact me at cecilia.roudabush@newharmonyline.org if you are interested!! Check out our website at www.newharmonyline.org
