Discovered that the XTrident Harrier features a working Nozzle Stop lever including a Hover Stop setting (clever people). It makes V/STOL look much closer to reality I think. Hope you enjoy this little film if so feel free to’Like’

Bill - thanks for subscribing.
Looks great Bill Regards Dave from Scotland
Sir, I was 6 years old and standing with my dad in front of the cinema in Skegness when a Tonka GR1 flew down Lumley Road. I decided I wanted to fly the Tornado there and then. Sadly, severe asthma ruled me out of serving, but I still get a buzz from just seeing one of these beasts.
My name is on there somewhere, courtesy of my dear wife, I haven’t seen it yet, must do so soon.
The detail in the animation and sound effects is just astonishing.
No - almost as remote - RAF Valley!
Nice, did you say this is Goose Bay? Bill Burnett the OIC was telling us of how he’d demonstrate the reflections from the lakebeds affecting the RadAlt at Goose Bay.
We found that the MFS Director Horizon rolls 360° whereas the civilian SFS Director Horizon such as in the Comet could only manage 60°. Clearly Avro intended it to go all the way over when they built it😂
Beautiful, thanks. It amazed us flying XM652 just how much the side windows are used for visibility.

Hi Nick, fine margins!
My mind drifts back to when I was a new Co on 617 and the Capt said ‘keep the nose up’ followed by ‘sh*t’ when the two red lights came on😂
Thanks RayKit. I have a question for you. I use a Logitech Yeti Mike and OBS to record. So should I make the adjustment to aircraft ambient noise on the OBS slider? Grateful as ever for informed advice.
In terms of vocal progression within the mix.. i would recommend turning your game master audio down. Your voice must ALWAYS be in the foreground. Makes it more comfortable for the listener.
Reading you loud and clear.
Audio is good!
I’ve seen a bit of stick about this Skunkcrafts XP12 version of their already great xp11 version. All I can say is- really - get sometime in!
Hello Bill, Great video. I was wandering if you knew about the DCS Virtual Air Shows that take place. Myself and a colleague have been demoing the vulcan using our own Mod for DCS for about 3 years now being as accurate as we can to XH558. I would love to get in contact and discuss your experience more so we can create a more accurate representation!
Ok. Can you send me a link of what you do please.
@@billramsey2564 www.twitch.tv/videos/2002276779 at 3 hours and 17 minutes we display. this is a representation of the largest air festival we attend. We are continually working on our Vulcan Mod to make it as accurate as we can and the same goes for the display
There seems to be an issue with youtube not allowing links to be sent in the comments so i cannot see if the comment with the link and time stamp for our display went through. If it has not gone through then the best way to see what we do is to search Virtual Air Festivals on the platform Twitch and select Day 2 of the Virtual International Air Festival. we fly at 3 hours and 17 min@@billramsey2564 . if you already received the previous comments then i apologise for the repeated comments as i cannot see if the previous actually sent through
Happy memories riding the Waddo wave - Happy New Year to you.
What a joy to see a real pilot flying a proper display! Thank you so much Bill. Happy Christmas!
Wow, an actual video would have been cool. This is lame as hell.
Reminds me of 1962 flying a Victor when all four engines caught fire! My first time flying a simulator (can't remember if it was Wittering or Gaydon though). 15 years old and hooked on flight simulations ever since. There was no view out of the opaque windows, just day time or night time depending if the lights were on in the room or thunderstorm if they were flashing. We crashed into the North Sea!
You make it look effortless, but I know it isn't. Thanks for sharing :-)

Hey Bill which Vulcan were you in for this video, XM655 ,?
@9:16 I was expecting to see the SUN 🌞 Being DRAAAGGED into those Engines air intakes MY LORD YOU CAN ACTUALLY "FEEL" YOUR MOLECULES BEING SHOOK. from watching this.. Im a 5 year old boy again.. running around Lincolnshire With my Green Parker coat pulled ( delta shaped) up over my head And ""blowing across the top of an empty Pop bottle" Oh im in tears of absolute joy.. Than that is a very wonderful feeling for me. ❤❤❤
Sorry for all my comments But this is just absolutely INCREDIBLE 💯 9:09 YES YES YES ITS THE HOOOOOOOWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLL such TREMENDOUS POWER when folks ,( who had never heard nor witnessed the Vulcans before?!) would visit my home town Newark-upon-Trent Soon they'd look strangely up at the sky!! And then ask?? "Can you hear that sound, it sounds like a massive industrial Vacuum cleaner"??!!!!! 🤔🫤) And we'd reply "OHHHHH yes😁😆, thats our sky guard Birds??!!😶🌫️🤗🫡) They'd reply " WHAT"🤔??!!! We'd reply "Oh, you'll soon understand" 😆🤪🫢🤭🤭"oh here they come now" 🤗😆😆😝😝 They'd reply " what??!! that tiny line ------•------ in the distance"???!! 🤔 We'd reply "ohhhh yes" 🤭🤭🤭🤣🤣🥰😏🤗 We'd 😆 have to pull these folks😳🤯😵💫😵 back "out"🫣 From underneath our garden sheds😶🌫️ 🤭🤗🤗😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🫠🫠🫠
HI Bill Im from Newark-upon-Trent I want to say A massive THANK YOU SO MUCH I WONDER??!! if these VR FLIGHT SIMULATOR could be "incorporated" into the Vulcans cockpits at air museums around the Uk.. eg Winthorpe Air Museum.. as a visitor experience. Surely it would bring in much needed revenue £ for the air museums .. I think this Vulcan sim is going to be one of the biggest selling ones .. Idea... if you could be featured into this SIMULATOR, flying the HX558. Including your cockpit voice-overs.. ( a brilliant way to immortalise your service forever.. And you'd earn money from the games company for doing it too??!! ( as I said just a thought/ idea) I actually cried watch theses Vulcan flight simulator videos... Mainly because as a child growing up in Newark-upon-Trent I knew them birds up there keep me as a child safe from arm.. ( I completely understood what the V-FORCE "deterred" They kept the WORLD at Peace 🖖✌️ ☮️ ) But also because of the thought/ possibility that I could actually now be able to fly one.. ( I can only just drive a car.. let alone FLY a VULCAN BOMBER 😂.. SO THIS IS BEHOND MY WILDEST DREAMS COME TRUE 🎉🎉.. When I've watch other the flight simulator channels reviewin this sim, you can really hear the massive wonderful emotions coming out in the folks doing the reviews. Its truly bringing out tears of joy to folks.. And thats such a very good thing.. THANK YOU BILL and All The VBG V-FORCE CREWS .. Once my PC/ VR Is set up.. Im going to take off from WADDINGTON and follow the Trent along till I see Staythorpe cooling towers 🏭 Then And just fly allover my home town.. Newark-upon-Trent ❤😊☺️🥰 Then land at Syerston ❤❤❤🖖🖖🖖🤗🤗☺️☺️☺️👌👌🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🤪🤪🗼🛫✈️〰️➿️➰️➿️〰️🛩🛬🗼 HOW fantastically incredible is that. Oooohhhh that Molecule mover Ohhhhhhhhh that Sound splitting HOOOOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLL ----➖️<➿️🔘➿️>➖️----
excellent, thnaks o/
Hi Bill, fantastic vid, keep them coming. Have just bought the Justflight Vulcan for msfs, and Id like to know what all about the systems etc. Thanks again o/
I climbed up the ladder into the cockpit at woodford airshow years ago. Surprisingly tight up ther but packed with equipment. Walked under the open bomb bay doors wide wired feeling knoiwmg it usually held a large nuke or 2 in ther.
What a great video coming from someone who really knows the plane, superb stuff, and what an amazing aircraft.
I stood under the bomb bay doors and witnessed the last ever flight of this Vulcan from Doncaster Airport/ RAF Finninley, now I get the chance to actually fly it 😀
🤗🤗🤩😝🤪🖖🫡👏
Thank you for this insight to realistic handling the vulcan. Maybe you could do some short vids abbout real world procedures, startup, takeoff, inflight, landings etc. To have this from someone who actually operated the vulcan would be fantastic. Again thank yo so much , sir!
Bill SHOULD Be Incorporated into this sim As a FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR. IMAGINE HAVE BILL SAT RIGHT NEXT TO YOU 😃😃😁😆🤩🤩🤪🤗🤗😍🥰🥰😊😊😊🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Haha, yes that would be incredible. With todays 3d-scanner that is actually not too far off.@@grahamfisher5436
Fantastic thanks for sharing . The Vulcan was the first aircraft I marshalled in the 80s at Raf Lossiemouth straight out of training . Maybe you flew in to Lossiemouth about that time . The thing that impressed me was the size of the aircraft and such a small entry point under the fuselage 😊 Regards Dave from Scotland
Great Bill, very informative. Keep em coming 😊 it's fantastic to have someone in the community who is able to give us first hand what this mighty beast was like to fly and explain in detail the control panels ❤
Hi Bill, was the 2G limit an operational limit when the Vulcan was in service or brought in after retirement to extend the airframe life? Great video.
No, it always applied. Actually a fraction less I think but you couldn’t read the gauge any better.
Thank you Bill do you think the brake Shute should be a bit bigger.
Yes, I think that is the default xp11 chute. From what I’ve seen, the one in the xp12 JF version looks much more realistic.
Thanks Bill, yep audio could do with a tweak. Great little video more please, will look firword to more tutorials from you. Thanks again hope Santa is kind to you 😊
Thank you very much! Very useful tips!
This was great hearing from a Real World Vulcan pilot.
Teeside airport 2002, “Come on Kurt, get the bloody figures and let’s get to the bar, the brandy won’t drink itself”! 🤣🤣🤣 Hope you’re well Bill!
Thanks for this from an ex RAF Nimrod Crew Chief so it was nice to hear you refer to RAF Kinloss rather than Kinloss Barracks. Great video which I watched eagerly as I intend ordering this add on. Slight problem with hearing some of your comments over the engine noise but valuable and enjoyable nonetheless.
1st THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE 🤗🤗💙💙💙💙💙 2nd I dont expect to hear Absolutely ANYTHING 🙉🙉💯 That's entirely the point of the HOOOOOOOWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 😅😊🤭🤪😝😜😉 Isn't this SIM just the BEST THING❤ EVER
Two engines idle and two up at 95% to produce that haunting howl. Thank you for sharing.
BILL you seriously need to be incorporated into this SIMULATOR ( like sports star are in computer game Eg Tiger Woods pro golf etc.. Also.. This sim Could/ should give the players the option To make a £ donation to the "Vulcan heritage charity" I'm getting this sim next week. I'd be more than happy to donate this way..
I saw the Vulcan display with one of the last Lancasters about 9 or 10 years ago. Was marvellous
hi there, great video if you want to improve your audio without spending, surround yourself with soft furnishings. Towels work well, if you really want to go to town, pin them onto picture frames and make a little cubicle on 3 sides of your head.
if you want to sound more like radio communication (which would be appropriate) remove all the bass and treble from your mic, and push the mids up a bit.
Thank you for sharing! I don't know if I'm the only one but I have a really hard time hearing your voice over the engine noise. It would be really awesome if you could tweak your audio levels if you decide to do another video.
You’re right and I apologise. Santa is bringing me a more professional microphone which should fix it in future
I've said that Bill's caricature should be incorporated into the actual sim Flying the 558 AND his voice should be used for giving the aircrews flight missions commentary Don't you all think that would be such a tribute to Bill. AND.. AND he would be forever immortalised in history..
@billramsey2564 please don't apologise.. The fact that you do the Vulcan videos is more than an honour.. 😊
