In this video, I wirelessly transfer MIDI files directly from my M2 Mac mini with MuffinTerm under macOS Ventura to a Macintosh LC II using ZTerm under System 6.0.8. The MIDI files are played back using Master Tracks Pro 6.0 and a YAMAHA MU15 XG MIDI Module. The first track is an original composition titled "Stack Boss" and is a General MIDI file. Mac OS 9 running natively on a G4 Mac mini courtesy of macos9lives.com's custom installer. With 1GB RAM, a 1.4Ghz PPC G4, and a 32GB PATA SSD, OS 9 is lightning fast. The fuzziness in the image is due to my capture workflow (DVI to VGA to HDMI). What is it?
In episode 57 of his television show, which is titled thin ice, Teddy and the hermit of leaky lake, who turns out to be Teddy’s Long lost father, sing the song while they are getting ready to go to bed. Surprised that the hermit of leaky lake knows the song, Teddy asks him how he knew the song. The hermit, who had his memory erased by MAVO, Tells him he doesn’t remember. Teddy tells him that his father made up the song and sang it to him when he was little.
i wish there were more videos of ppl just multitasking and doing regular stuff on old computers, specifically mac os 7-9. such a great interface, so powerful and flexible to your needs, so much good design just left behind by virtually every modern os. you can really only get this kind of environment in a modern context in MATE after a not insignificant amount of customization

How did you get sound working? Heard it is an issue with the G4 mini. Just picked up a G4 mini for like $40 and am about to install OS 9 on it.
I got it working two ways, actually - first was using an ancient MD-Port USB interface I've had since I was a kid, it was the oldest USB audio interface I had, so I gave it a shot and it worked great. After some more testing I settled on a modern Sabrent adapter like this: www.amazon.com/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_3Nv4FbH6ET13H Both of the aforementioned devices were plug and play, but there's no way to adjust the volume. Fortunately, they were both a pretty comfortable line-level, whereas the headphone jack on the mini under OS 9 will deafen you if you plug headphones into it...
although i have a yikes! with OS 8 and all the stuff from my childhood, you inspired me to get a mac mini G4 and mod it with an SSD, max RAM, a mini wifi router to act as a conversion between wifi and ethernet (as airport extreme does not work) and of course a dual install od OS 9 and morphos. so thanks, it's brilliant fun. now only if i could get hellcats over the pacific to work in OS 9.2..
