What I got WRONG about ART GOALS
What I got wrong about my art goals: Direction. In this video I talk about what's been bugging me for the past couple months. I wasn't able to put my finger on why I felt so unaccomplished despite drawing more than I ever have in the last couple of years. We talk about Goals and how to filter the ones we truly need to get to where we want to be, from the unnecessary detours that we may find infinitely more alluring.

Просмотров 4456 месяцев назад
Rendering is such a broad topic. There's a million different ways to render the same thing. Depending on your art program or medium, the tools you have access to, and even your skill level. Everyone has their own style of rendering and their own processes. From using as many different layers as possible with every blending mode imaginable to painting on only one layer. Stylized rendering vs Rea...

What Your Main Art Social Media Says About You
As someone who's currently just started creating a webtoon project of my own, this was a wake-up call as to everything i was doing right and everything i was fucking up terribly (LIKE DIALOUGEEEEEEEEEE.). Thank you so much for making this video. taught me how to not fail at the project im so passionate about (also side note people reading this take breaks or your hands will force you to)
my method may not be the best but some of it may be interesting to others... - limit social media, play energetic music instead. Music has actually hypnotic effect on your moods and helps better to focus on the task than what something is being talked about in videos. - have multiple projects. My brain may not feel like working on the current project but for some reason has a ton of ideas for another so any productivity is still a good progress for the day. - keep old discarded ideas and work! Its always great to look back at to get inspired or even reuse those old ideas - use pureref as your workspace. Its not only good for organizing reference images but also for organizing your projects and lists in colorful groups. I keep multiple projects on display all in one window all the time to look at and add new bits to it. -feed your brain with inspiration constantly! Peoples life stories, funny commentary in gameplay, fan novels, you name it! All these sources invite you to get new mindset on things or how you could have your characters behave. I honestly struggle with deadlines myself so my focus is on keep generating ideas and then put the pieces together like a puzzle. It is then easier to just fill in the gaps to make the story whole but others may prefer going for A to B more so you just gotta try many methods until you find what works for you
Type 1 practice vs Type 2 practice.
god, self-inserting harem romcoms make me physically want to unexist. had to stop watching there.
I watched two episodes of In Another World with my Smartphone and was done with it. I thought for some reason bro would be a literal tech wizard which sounded so cool to me but NOPE. I absolutely love That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime though and it’s a good anime with amazing writing… besides the fact it’s a harem. But there’s a lot of things that don’t do OP protagonists right (COUGH COUGH IN ANOTHER WORLD WITH MY SMARTPHONE) but Rimuru is actually pretty well written. His overpowered-ness takes ACTUAL effort from him while in IAWWMSP god is just like “oh I don’t wanna be seeing you again any time soon so I’m gonna dump all the best powers on you with you not even having to lift a finger!!!!!1!!11”.
Meekon does not like melons
Sorry I was acting VERY insane ignore this comment :3
This helped me, I think I need to temporarily act like a specialist for once and finish my oneshot in a reasonable amount of time
11:41 IM AT WORKRN WHILE I WATCH THIS RN BUT BANGER >:D!!!!!
finally someone said it
LETS GO MEEEEEEEKOOOON !!!
Ironically, I recently decided to try to become a generalist (or a specialized generalist?) kind of like Daisuke Ishiwatari. Rn, I'm gonna try to get back into art and get better at it so I can turn it into merch because I need to get a job TvT. I'm also going to try to improve my writing skills and semi-complete a commitment project I've been working on for 3-ish years & decide if I want to tell it somehow or not.
When I say this video couldn't be better timed...I mean it. Fr was lost today. 💀
Me who draws on smaller canvases because I draw with my thumb (and because it's too hard):
When I look through your channel, that harem song BETTER be a standalone video.
great advice but rhyming birth with birth?
Thanks for your video. It works first time, but for me remain the problem of the text created outside the page in the right corner, so I continued to change option and now the problem of the ugly rotated font come back and the procedure doesn't work anymore. It's extremely frustrating, I work full time and study, so I have very little free time to draw, and today I lost an ENTIRE day fighting with Clip Studio Paint, the worst program ever. I'm so sad and frustrated.
when you said "im a little bit of failure" I clicked on the subscribe. YOU CANT BE A REAL ARTIST IF YOU HAVENT THINK LIKE THIS. lol You are not failure btw. X D
This is a great video :)
We need videos for the types of arch, and worlds and nuances!! Really like this video
You deserve more subs then me This was a good video hope you blow up asp
love the random musical number
Bucking the trend by buying SAI and TikTok not being my influencing decision to use Procreate XD
help please how not share the pc screen with the cintiq???!!!!
The scratches on your screen are from dust and dirt lodged in the tip of your pen. The dust and dirt is picked up from your screen. I've had an ancient Cintiq 21UX (same plastic screen) for 10+ years with nearly no scratches because I've always kept the screen wiped before I started serious drawing and wiped the pen tip occasionally, also. I have read online that the matte, anti reflection layer of the screen is what is scratched and that it can be peeled off. However, that leaves you with a very slick, shiny surface to draw on. Either way I've never tried it to see it it is true or practical to do. Used Cintiqs can be bargains IF you catch one that isn't worn out. My 21UX was $2000+ when it was new but I got it used on ebay for ~$400. Today you'd have trouble giving one away, but mine still does everything it was supposed to do when it was Wacom's top-of-the-line screen. One must be cautious in that many older Cintiqs don't have drivers available for the latest OSs. For example, my 21UX won't be getting a Windows 11 driver.
Good video, but you won't be perfect, trying to be perfect leads to procrastination, you want to start with small projects and then if you like you can do bigger comic projects, planning is essential but narrow the concept down to not too much. the rewriting happened because your story wasn't mapped out or completed. I think your ideas were not bad, just needed more fleshed-out thought. I'm gonna read the comic
I’m in high school and very much taking notes
THAT WAS A BOP OMG YT SHORT THAT
As a krita user yeah pretty much
Very useful, and to unexpectedly hear a really sweet voice singing a harem song haha 10/10 You inspired me to start working on my webtoon projects again!
I’ve tried experimenting with my storytelling by combining the Harmon circle with Ki-Sho-Ten-Kitsu.
6 min video first min is just rambling. GET TO THE POINT, video could've started at the 1:30 min mark. work on your video structure
Queee???
I draw a lot everyday, naturally since it is my job. And I also like to press pretty hard on my tablet. So your experience may differ depending on how much you use it and how hard you press.
Nice review. Thanks. Loved the Eminem part.
Hey, I’m trying to find a way to publish my own comic on canvas but I can’t figure out how to publish using iPad. Can anybody please help😭😭IVE BEEN STUCK FOR TOO LONG.
Publishing requires using the desktop site to publish (or did when I used it last) Try… 1. Open google chrome. 2. Login to your webtoons account. 3. Click the three dots in chromes top right corner, “request desktop site” (if you’re on mobile version. ) 4. There should be some upload/publish button now. Hope this helps! ( I haven’t published there in a long time, but this was the common problem + solution back then at least )
this is so helpful, thank you!!
The harem song!!!😂😂😂😂
Hah! Jokes on you to think my device is good enough to open a big canvas without crashing-
Idk if my phone could handle 8k by 10k! Im working with 1.2k by 1.2k, and that lags if i have more than 50 layers 😂
If my illust can help anyone, then let it be
I have this so bad I had to move yo pixel art or I’ll never be happy with what I make
This is genius 😭💖 Thank you, will think about it next time i get stuck on the saving process uwu No more dealing with intrusive thoughts, 1000 pixels it is😂
Me being a traditional artist: 🧍
Also generally the only people zooming in enough to notice the details are other artists trying to learn how you do what you do So making mistakes isn't that big of a deal, and if anything small ones are beneficial. To teach other artists that hey you don't need that anxiety either
But bu- but I want to print them out 😅 - I save both a high rez and low rez version of everything + a high rez with transparent bg in case I want to change the bg in the future after getting rid of the initial file
