Trail 38 5D Highland Park (4K Quality)
Nice short trail to get people more confidence on the 5 diamond trails. This one is not bad at all. I think some of the 4 diamonds w the hill climbs are more difficult than this one.

Recently installed the mx tech blackjack forks and their national shock on the 24 stark varg. This is probably more than needed for my skill level but I wanted the good stuff. I was able to drop my average time by 3 seconds and set a new personal lap record of 1:41. I believe this is faster than my 300sx and my gasgas 450 times (I have went back and timed them and they seem to be in the 1:46 ra...

Single lap around the "night track" at STF. Super cool place and great people. Stop by and see Tyler, get some training. My Son Duke had a session with him and improved tremendously. This is one of many tracks at the facility so there is something for everyone. Will be a common stop for the family and I.

New to me stark varg. Love this thing so far. I prefer it over my 23.5 factory edition gasgas with custom suspension. This is the alpha model but as you can see, the 40hp mode is plenty.

I dont see this as a 5 diamond as the most diff section is the down hill at the beginning but possibly it is for ATV. Good flow trail and wide for those that are not always searching for the signle track but want a more diffucult trail.

Hi, can I use this clip in my compilations? Credited of course (On-screen and link back).
Hey! Can I use this clip in one of my next compilations? Full Credited. Thanks.
Hello, there! How are you? Can we use this clip in one of our upcoming videos? You'll be credited with a watermark on screen & a link in the description/pinned comment. :)

Questions: sand tire? Settings on bike….HP, engine brake, etc?
No sand tire. I do have an Mx14 laying around but I have never used it. I have it set on 65hp and 10% engine brake. I think 65% is about what a 450 is but I like the free feel of little to no engine brake but it does lower my regin.
Well done. 👍🏻 looking comfy on ⚡️🔋

How do you like that new hard Enduro
I love it so far. This was the first ride on the bike. I sold a yz250x and went this route and could not be happier. I test rode the 250 xc and 300xc before I decided on the 300. It just seems to fit my riding style way better as I prefer to lug it as you can probably tell from the videos.
Thanks I was thinking about renting a 23 tbi from Highland to see how I like the motor.
@@jamesking4225 thats one of the cool things about highland, you can rent stuff and try it out before thowing into it. I dont think they have an 24 for rent though but feel free to try mine if we are even in the same location.
They have a 23 tbi right now I live about 15 minutes from there
High quality vid. Keep up the work!
Thanks bud! Sucks the camera died before the good stuff. Already ordered multiple batteries to prevent this in the future 🤘
I think with this 300 you can ride lazy under the power and stop nice lap time without too much effort but if you try to ride at 100% its another story and you must be a very skilled rider
I agree. I loved mine but when it blew up prematurely, I let it go. Ended up going back to a 450 due to parts being more available. I had trouble getting the gasket kit for the top end of the 300sx. This may not be the case anymore but it was 8 months or so ago
Wooton baby 😂😂😂
I was out there today for the 1st. The video doesn’t justify how big the jumps are in person lol
definitely cant wait to get out with yall and learn.
that track looks sick
'Promosm'
What did you think of the forks on the 300?
Honesty I did not like them. I was on the hunt for a spring conversion but ended up going w cone valves although to be honest, KYB spring conversion would have been just as good at my skill level.
@@trace18101 what part did you not like about them?
@@josephelefante9617 they were harsh feeling. I had them revalved and spring but still harsh on braking bumps and sharp edge chop.
@@trace18101 how much do you weigh? I’m about 210 and 6’4
@@josephelefante9617 5’5 and 135 without gear.
Each lap was faster and smoother lines. Get that triple!
I have hit it a few times. its not hard especially after you hit the larger table just in front of it. just have to maintain roll speed. breaking bumps developed at the end of the day and I did not have the comfort (or skill) to hit it and take the inside rut that I preferred. This video was the last day and last session we went out. You need to ride Pax Trax sometime!
Point your camera up more next time. You want the horizon in the middle of the screen.
Agreed. But odd thing is that the angle of the camera (its an external mount) did not change from my helmet to his (Jacob), so he must wear his helmet a little more chin bar down than I do mine. For reference, the gopro mount we are using is a Dango Design chin bar mount sold on amazon. Link provided below. www.amazon.com/Dango-Design-Gripper-Mount-GoPro/dp/B01BBAW028/ref=asc_df_B01BBAW028/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309836137809&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9188590925411271943&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1012958&hvtargid=pla-526398090861&psc=1
How is the overall comfort riding this bike? Does it wear you out faster than a 4t? Came off a 350sxf and went to a 125sx after a bad arm break now looking for a bigger bike. Like the 2ts but I've heard the 250 is a beast and the 300 is more manageable like the 350. Any thoughts on this?
So I am lucky enough that I have ridden all of the above. My opinion is that the 300sx is the better choice between the 350 and the 300. I sold a 22 125sx recently and although fun, you have to work for faster lap times which is not what I was after. The 350sxf was good but I prefer the light and nimble 300sx over it. The 300sx has enough torque to be lazy in the corners yet still at times you will have to feather the clutch like a traditional 2 stroke. The 250sx is a little to explosive for me and I prefer the more linear 300sx. In the end, I would go with the 300sx. Keep in mind that I am 135lbs and 5'5. Not sure if the above translates if you are a heavier rider. I did not like the 300sx stock forks although I did think the 22 125sx had a pretty good fork from factory.
@Trace Stafford yeah that what what I'm going for is a linear 2t I've just never rode the 300sx yet but liked the 350sxf for the predictable nature of it. The 125 was fun but I'm 6ft 195 so like trying to ride a pony in the derby. In mn we have a lot of loamy tracks with really hard bottoms so for a vet rider like myself a linear bike works great. I appreciate the information.
@@scottknight1301 no problem. let us know what you decide.

No problem. Hope it helped
Glad you were okay. Cross rutting really sucks.
very true!
man that is a nice track to have to ride on
Felt that one lol
Yeah man. Wasn’t a fun crash. I jumped up so fast because I was totally convinced I broke my leg. At one time during the dismount it got caught between the forks and the frame.
@@trace18101 ouch well glad you walked away, one of my riders was out there right around the same time as you track looks amazing wish I could've went down with my buddy maybe next time
Did you get caught in a rut? Almost looked like when you went off you were going to whip it to the left but went straight instead.
unfortunately this wreck was due to nothing cool but just regular old poor track awareness and mental fatigue lol. I found that the left side of the jump face was smoother than the right and just one of those time I went a little to far left. There is a small chance that I also could have cross rutted but I really do believe I am the one to blame for this.
@@trace18101 That has happened to me before. I believe fatigue has played a part in many of my crashes. Glad you came out unscathed. Sick bike btw! I bet that 300 gives wicked arm pump. I have a 250sx and get way more arm pump on it than on my 250F.
“Whoooooo baby” he said…. Ha. It was all good till it wasn’t.
@@johnnyvivic8730 surprisingly my arm pump from my 250sxf to the 300sx doesn’t seem to change. The 300 produces power a little different than most big bore 2 strokes so it’s not so abrupt. If you get a chance, you should ride one. It’s well worth it.
@@trace18101 I believe I will try one! This is great to hear. I switched out my 36mm carb on my 250sx with a 38mm carb, and it has a lot more power, but it is a bit more abrupt and radical with the delivery. Perhaps I will go back to the 36mm and see if that reduces arm pump. I have never ridden a 300 though, so the possibility of it being even smoother does intrigue me!
Niceeeeee
Love pax! Got to ride there memorial weekend 2020, the girl i was dating family had a beach house in saint augustine, found out pax was near by and took my 450 and 500af with us from Ohio. Need to go back there soon. Nothing like they’re brownie batter sand.
Yeah that dirt compared to Ohio is a big change! I was a little concerned it may be a deep sandy track but that black dirt is deceiving and IMO was a great place to ride.
Nice video but man that track looks slippery as hell.
There are a few section that are a little slick from deep sand but overall it’s pretty good. The video makes it look a lot slicker than it actually is.
Can really lug that thing a bit for a two stroke
This is true. But if you can’t lug it, a quick fan of the clutch and you are right back in the power
That little man you passed on the little 50 sx was Roman. I was shocked to see him in some else’s video. He said the next time you’re out at MX 191, he’s like to swap bikes for a lap or two. Lol
Haha perfect. That’s more my size anyways 😂
Sweet good info
Thanks! Figured it was worth posting for the people w the new chassis.
How do u feel about the forks and shock
To be transparent, at this moment I have less than 2 hrs on the bike. With that being said, the reviews from more experience test riders reveals that it takes greater than 5 hrs to break the chassis in and until then the bike can feel harsh which I agree with. Once I get the bike past a few hrs and the rear spring installed for my weight, I repost my review but in its current configuration, its pretty harsh at my 135 lbs w/o gear.
@Trace Stafford I'm 153 lbs and needed to go down to a 4.0 rear spring. Stock was 4.5. 142 psi in the fork. 20 out on the fork compression 18 on rebound. Shock 1-3/4 high speed, 19 out low speed, rebound 12. The rebound plays a huge role in reducing the harshness. This is my setup for hard pack dirt for now.
@@SpeedDemonExpress I ended up switch the forks to cone valves. I do enjoy them but I realize it’s overkill. The rear shock I had it resprung for my weight and valved. I still seemed to get a lot of kick/deflection on braking bumps although w some tuning it did calm down. I now have on order an Mx Tech national shock which I hope will be in in the next few weeks. And yes this is also over kill but it’s a stereotypical vet rider move and what can I say, I like nice stuff 😂
@Trace Stafford Cool. Do a video on the guts of those forks if you ever have them apart. Ironically I think you actually might need to speed up the rebound if the shock feels like it's kicking, most of that feeling usually happens after the initial bump, doesn't rebound fast enough to absorb the next bump and deflects or bucks.
love the video btw
I have a 2022 Husqvarna 350 fx and im thinking about making the switch to the 300sx or just adding a rekluse to the 350. What are your thoughts on that if I ride about 50% trails and 50% track. Trails I ride are mostly open with some hill climbs here in dahlonega ga.
I am honestly not a fan of the rekluse as I lose a little clutch control which I think is important for good bike control. Dont get me wrong, the auto rekluse while stuck on a hill is great but I still dont prefer it. I would also add that some rekluse clutches that I have ridden will randomly stall when going from idle to open throttle. This is likely something that can be changed w a good set up but it does exist. If it was me and I was doing 50-50 trails to mx I would go w the KTM 300xc. The Sx valving would not be fun on square edges and obstacles on the trails. Depending on the size of jumps you plan to do, if you are consistently hitting the downside of landings and not always sending it to the flats, the 300xc would hold up just fine. Now if you are a hard core mx rider and hitting pretty large stuff, then maybe explore the idea of having one bike dedicated to Mx and the other to trail. Although more expensive, depending on your skill level and desire for big jumps dictates whether the suspension would be appropriate for cross over. Before I got more into Mx I used to ride my 2020 yz250x on both the trail and track and it did just fine as long as I was not overjumping or casing large jumps.
Fantastic shooting!
Thanks man!
Every on track video I see of this bike it shreds
Yeah its a pretty awesome bike. By no means am I able to push it to its full (or even close) potential but its a ton of fun to ride. I mostly ride a 125sx and a 250sxf both of which are 22 models so its taking me a little while to settle in with this one. The non-gopro shots of the bike do demonstrate what I am feeling which is the rear does not stay planted but a lot of that has to do with my weight vs what the bike is sprung for. Already ordered a new rear spring so will update once installed. Its a pretty amazing bike and you should ride one when you get a chance.
This video is awesome!, (except it needs to be in 4k). This shows how amazing the Skydio 2/2+ is. I would say, give us a 4k version, and don't look for the drone, and you have a winner. Great and fun video! And I liked the music, LOL.
The 4k would have been better. I was having trouble figuring out how to use my editing software at the time but now I have it down. I did have a tendency to look for the drone but what you don’t see in the video is I lost it a few times as the speeds of the bike in conjunction w the drone trying to avoid the trees lead to it losing me and it putting its self in some not so easy to find locations lol. I see you have one. Enjoy!
@@trace18101 I really enjoyed your video, and I kept wanting to see all the nice detail it can produce. It's hard not to look for the drone at first, then you sort of get used to it, and start trusting that it will be there. I have put mine in some crazy situations (not intentionally), and it has succeeded every time! The only times it has given me any issues is when I have had it pointed right into the setting sun. Then it sort of freaked out a couple times and hovered until it figured it out. Skydio is amazing!
Yes definitely great video.
Thanks! Cant beat the 4k gopro
