You made an error at 9:47, I believe. Any friendly cells in box 8 can contain an 8, so you could get 17 with 458, where the 8 is in r7c5. So, you don’t yet have enough information to conclude that r6c5 is a 6. (But you got lucky.) [I would like very much to find out how you can correctly deduce the 6, because I haven’t figured it out yet.]
Ok, I figured it out. The 11 cage has to have a 5 in it, so that makes the 17 cage 467. 😄
Fun Christmas puzzle! 20:36 for me. 😄
Excellent time!
21:32 to solve. Nice puzzle and a very Happy Christmas!
That's a brilliant time! Thank you and a merry Christmas to you as well!
16:33 for me, but I’m happy with that. Fun puzzle! 😄
Nice! Iv really enjoyed solving this puzzle as well.
Over 15 minutes, I coloured all possible 9 and set about eliminating them, after that it was straight sudoku
That's a good strategy!
At 46:17 once you have placed two purples in Column 6, there is an orange and a green in the column in box 8. So the pair in box 2 in the column has to be green. It cannot be two orange.
Well spotted!
At 47:21 that 2 is really interesting. It puts a 2 on the blue line in box 3 and therefore no 1 on that line. 1 in in row 2 in box 3.
I thought the 2 could still be in r3c8 if the 1 was in r4c9. Did I miss something?
@@PuzzlePatzerthe 2 you placed in r5c9 is a knights move from r3c8. Also, what I failed to mention is that the pair of 1s in box 6 in row 4 eliminate the 1 in r3c9. Wherever the 1 is in row 4, r3c9 is either in the same column as a 1 or a knight’s move from a 1.
Right! I forgot about the Knight rule! As if the puzzle wasn't hard enough 😆
@ knights move constraint.
Oh wow, was this difficult.
Indeed! But quite fun 😊
I saw your comment on this puzzle when I solved it and have been looking forward to watching this video.
Hi Jeffrey, long time! What did you think of the puzzle? I have your 'up to 11' on my to do list 😄 Edit: btw you're going to like the video. Lots of laughing at my expense moments 😆
I really like this puzzle. I was overoptimistic when the 4s fell in place so easily. After that it got really hard and I do not remember how I solved it, but I recall a lot of corner marks and coloring. Usually I start a puzzle and lose interest after a half hour and go do something else, and maybe come back to it a few times, but this one I solved straight through, though I will not tell you my time. I am always impressed by your tenacity and your ability to remember your logical train. I’m 66 and easily distracted. I like setting more than I like solving. I am really excited you’re going to solve my Spinal Tap Tribute. Have you watched the movie so you will get the Stonehenge reference? I am shocked that the puzzle is rated 4 stars difficulty. I think it’s a 2. There’s one spot where if you’re following my projected path it gets bogged down, but there are two cells related that get the puzzler through that point. If I may offer one bit of advice: there are 4 pairs of digits that sum to 11. Bring crayons.
I have to admit that I haven't seen the film in a long time. I will have to check the stonehenge scene again before solving it. 🙂
Easy XE6
Qxd1
White Pawn e6 is the brilliant move, the white pawn takes the black pawn on the e6 square, If the black pawn on f7 takes the white pawn on e6 square then the rook can take the queen and there's no one stopping the checkmate attack, well what if the queen on d6 takes the white pawn on the e6 square? Then we can take the rook and queen has to block the check and take the queen with the rook and checkmate
And what about Qxd1?
Took me 140 minutes lol
🙂 it happens! Was there anything specific that you were stuck on?
Nice
Thanks for the puzzle. Simple but difficult. really enjoyed it pal.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
20:53 to solve. Nice puzzle. Thanks
Glad that you enjoyed it! It's definitely trickier than it looks.
@ it was indeed! I completely missed the 1 in box 5 so got really stuck disambiguating the parity!
Mat en 5
Mat en 3, non? 1. ...,Cxd3+ 2. Fxd3, De1+ 3. Rf3, Db3++ Ou bien 1. ...,Cxd3+ 2. Rd2, Txe4+ (2. Rc3, De3+) 3.Rxd3, Te3++ J'ai raté qq chose?
@PuzzlePatzer Oui tu as raison ! Je l'ai fait de tête et j'ai cru que le roi avait toujours une case de fuite.
What about taking black queen from white queen?
Then black takes the rook, fxg6
Thank you very much for doing my puzzle, I really enjoyed it from start to finish and you did hit all the logic I had in mind. Really nice solve!
Hi Pofessor! It was a pleasure. That was a really nice flatmates variant. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the video!
Cool puzzle! Took me about 15 minutes.
Yeah, it's a great puzzle. Great time.
I have never seen it go 5-9 rather than 56789, how did you do that? Is there a setting I am missing?
Yes it is a setting. Under Experimental, turn on Compact Pencilmarks.
@@PuzzlePatzer thank you!!
@chrysalisescapist you're welcome!
Bro 57 thousand??? You are insane!
🤣
Over 10 minutes for me - good puzzle
Nice!: glad you enjoyed it.
That was more difficult than I expected. Especially since there was no solution included.
Yeah, I pick the speedruns at random based on the star rating. The difficulty rating varies wildly.
10:31 that was a fun scanning exercise.
It is. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
That was a neat puzzle. A bit challenging at the end in boxes 8 and 9.
Yes, it's always a sign of a great puzzle when it is challenging right until the end!
Thanks for solving my puzzle! The rules are a bit lengthier than I usually go for, but I think it was necessary for the story. You followed my intended solve path pretty closely, but the one thing that might have made your life a bit easier was that once you knew the British swimmer started on an odd digit, by the time they reached column 1, they would always have to end up back at an odd digit, a.k.a. the bronze medal. And fun fact, I tried for several days to figure out how to flip the swimmer emojis so that they would face to the right, because I think progressing left to right feels more natural for most people, but I couldn't figure it out so I flipped the entire puzzle instead!
Hi there, It was a real pleasure. Thank you for sharing the puzzle! Ah, yes that would have made my life easier. I have a knack for missing these things :) I have no experience in setting puzzles, do the emojis have to be in a special format that is difficult to flip? In any case, that didn't detract at all from the fun. excellent puzzle.
@PuzzlePatzer Emoji support is relatively new in the setting software I used, and the controls available let me rotate and resize them, but for whatever reason mirroring them just isn't available. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Fortunate error at 25:00, could have been 2 and double 1
Thanks for pointing it out. It couldn't have been a 2-1-1 combination as 2 and one are excluded from rows 3 and 6 but I should have explicitly mentioned that. Good catch!
@@PuzzlePatzer No, it's a 1 cell arrow with a green 1 with 2 in the circle that couldn't be ruled out yet
Oh I see! Yes you're absolutely right! 🤯
Thank you so much for featuring this puzzle! We really enjoyed watching you discover the logical wrapping around the grid; a few typos late in the solve caught you up but your logical deductions were spot on! Setting this puzzle together with @bremsterpuzzles was tremendous fun!
Wow, this was harder than expected! BremSter sent me to your channel. I love your sense of humor! Great solve of a great puzzle!
Hi there! Yes it's a tricky puzzle but highly enjoyable. I think difficulty and sense of achievement go hand in hand 😀. Welcome aboard and I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video!
11:05 for me. 😄
Nice!
Just subscribed on the back of Bremsters recommendation. Hello!
Hi there and welcome!
I love the thumbnail. The name of the puzzle came from the fact that the grid reminded me of a fountain that existed in Darling Harbour in Sydney until it was destroyed only a few months ago, after being there for nearly 30 years. This is very fitting though.
I figured as much when I looked up 'darling Fountain' afterwards. 😀 It was too late by then. It's the fountain with a spiral or maybe representation of an eddy in it? That's very fitting for how the puzzle is solved!
It was a bit of both, the spiral pattern of both the grid and the solve.

Nice!
Thanks Mario, I'm glad that you liked it!
No! Pawn to G5 wins a queen!!!
On what move?
Why do you play this on SudokuPad but give viewers a link to Logic-master? Not good.
Because that is where I find the puzzles. It would be weird to cut them out. The link to Sudokupad is on the page I link to.
Now that's a tough puzzle - I ended up guessing between 3 and 9 in row 7 box 8 - it worked out but ...not the most satisfactory way to finish
Not an easy puzzle at all! I don't remember how I resolved it (it's been a while) but I hope that it was helpful. :)
Thanks for the feature! That was quite the quick solve!
My pleasure! Great puzzle, thank you for sharing it.
Qg7?
On the first move? Kg5
Queen e3 balck pawn g5 queen f6
Qf4, g5; Qf6 you mean? Then Bg6 and no mate
White
White what?
omg 😏🫦
I’m first
18:44: I think, a 1 next to the 9 is also possible, putting the 5 in r5c2.
Looking back at it - it looks like you are right! If you can't be good be lucky I guess. Though seriously, I would rather made a mistake and had to correct it. Thank for pointing it out!
bro there was checkmate in 2 bishop g7 king g8 bishop f6
Bxg3, no checkmate
wtf?
Can you elaborate?
@@PuzzlePatzer omg
@Timber2k 😂
Rook c8 Roook c8
Link does not point to sudokupad, but some different site
Can’t I just take the queen with my pawn?
yeah, but black was up by 2knights, one pawn, and one queen, so even after taking the queen, white would be losing.
@ oh ok tysm
Indeed! If the choice is take the queen or checkmate, always pick checkmate 😀
