Honestly my favourite episode in the show, this sequence was one of the best I’ve seen in any cartoon I’ve ever watched. It’s just beautiful. Not only was Richard perfect for Nicole, he pretty much saved her life from mental insanity, prison, and even death, and went on to nurture a wonderful (yet insane) family. He was the best thing that could have happened to her. Nicole and Richard are genuinely one of the best couples in cartoon history.

Nicole loves Richard so much because he loved her by what her was not by her results like her parents

Despite showing them having good moments, they're relationship is really toxic when you think about it. Tv shows for years are always normalizing bad relationships as Richard and Nicole's marriage is similar to Oskar and Suzie 's relationship from Hey Arnold but the differences between the relationships is the one doesn't have children and Suzie has sense enough to divorce and move. Why would anyone want to raise a husband?
