The ruins of a once-thriving sugarcane plantation that was burned in the Second Seminole War. In its heyday, the Dummett plantation harvested some 2,000 acres of sugarcane to be distilled into rum. Built in 1825, it was the site of the first steam-powered cane crushing mill, helping bring the Industrial Revolution to the growing United States.Today, little remains of the plantation, which was burned to the ground during the Second Seminole War. What a beautiful bird!! I just love birds, hummingbirds, and owls! Flamingos, lol butterflies, dragonflies!! I hope to capture some clips of all this summer! Beautiful owl once lived in a tree next to our house....before we moved out here.....I tell you what....I was actually sad about not hearing that owl anymore. It took me a few months to not think about it when I went to sleep. Always heard that owl a hootin' at night, in the morning. It was very comforting! xo

Perhaps this is what the author Rafinesque described in the late 17 and early eighteen hundreds of ancient ruins in north America. I bought the books and read it for myself.
