In my opinion, this scene shows off the UN's (and Japan's as mentioned by other comments) stupidity perfectly. Their own peacekeeping troops are not allowed to engage until they are fired upon, but by the time they are being attacked, it is already too late. Not being able to launch a preemptive strike on the enemy led to those Japanese soldiers being massacred. The colonel did the right thing by retaliating, even if it was against orders. He did what I would've done in that situation. They have guns on those vehicles for a reason, so why are they not allowed to use them to defend themselves?

I wish there is square front mission anime with this quality... those looks almost identical to wanzer 🤩

今のあり方に対する風刺の様に感じる作品です…、特に今の世の様にロシアが他国を侵攻してる事や中国による台湾有事などはっきり言って日本の周りはろくな国がいない。 仮に日本が進行されたら政府は責任逃れから、決断の先送りかつ海外へ逃亡までやるだろう、現場に自衛官や警察官、国民まで置いてでも逃げる。
