The red or orange crabs you see are not dead. They are the exoskeleton of an A'a ma crab which had shed their skin 2 nights ago. They shed at a no moon night at lowest tide . The red or orange color is from yesterdays sun. If you go with a flashlight at the conditions previously mentioned you would find two crabs one black ( the shell) and one gray the soft shell crab (The best bait btw)
