GROWING KRATKY HYDROPONIC TOMATOES 🍅 || How to set up a Kratky System EASY!
Просмотров 34 тыс.Год назад
If you are looking for an easy way to grow an abundance of tomatoes, then look no further than the Kratky hydroponic system. In this video we are going to show you the simplest way to grow tomatoes in Kratky hydroponics, covering the basics of how this system works and discussing some fundamental elements like tomato cultivar selection and fertilization. Buy a compressive guide and step by step...
Thank you for the instructive video. For several years, I have grown in a spare room during the winter, using Kratky method or a wicking setup. However, I use a separate 5 gallon nutrient tank which is connected to a float valve which is then connected to the bottom of all of my buckets in series so they never run out of nutrient and the level is constant. I grow "Campari," an indeterminate variety. Often I can count over 100 tomatoes on only 4 vines! NOTE: I begin trimming and horizontally coiling the lower part of the vines as they will grow to the ceiling. The vines are often 20 feet long!
Thanks. Will give it a try. We did lettuce with animal based organics, total disaster. 😂
Your plants look very healthy and green 😊. One Recommendation would be to try the organic fertilizer called "coop poop " made from chicken 💩 😊. Been using it for years and plants absolutely love it (including corn). Not sure that it's meant to be directly added to water but wouldn't hurt to try. Keep it up!
What soil mixture do you use for containers fruit trees? I’m looking to start some in pots and try it this way.
In hot areas you can moderate the water temperature by putting the buckets into a 6" or deeper hole to keep the water cooler. Black absorbs a lot of heat. Cover the drain hole with screen or you will grow mosquitos and frogs.
What month is this in
Waiting for S2E1 and rest of it
Did you do an updated video? Please send me the link.
You should add a container for the avocado to fall into when you pick it.
Better from SEED! and wash your hands after handling dirt plants.
Where can I buy the best hydroponic nutrients in South Africa ? I'm looking for the powder form.

I'm wondering if root won't rotten!? Could you explain more pls?
Thank you now I need a tall tree to harvest my avocado 😢
Hello new subbie here..where do you get your containers? My new to gardening.
You videoed the process or any seeded plant on earth .. well done
You made a generic negative comment, bossting a vid you didn't even like.. well done.
Where did you get those tall skinny trellises?
No where near enough water for an entire growing season for tomatoes. I have had to use a whopping 1 gal of water per day due to the heat.
Hydroponic?
@@be.A.b Hydroponic still requires electricity and a pump. If indoors, additional climate controls are needed as well as additional lighting depending on the setup. It is not an organic solution. Oh and two of my pots take a whopping 2.5 gallons of water A DAY (tomato plant in each). Those hold 15 gal of soil too. Heat+wind+sun+low humidity = a LOT more water needed, hydroponic or not. With hydroponic you still have to control the water temperature. Want your tomatoes boiled on the vine? Subirrigation is not as susceptible to water temperatures like hydroponics are.
Hello. Thank you for the video. How will we proceed when the roots grow long and we need to replenish the water? Can you give information about harvest time and after?
Very nice 👌 😊😊
nice video. but how do you adjust the water level to keep at least some of the roots hitting the air so it can 'breathe'?
How you do that…..
awesome, "cultivating kindness one seed at a time" 🪴🪴🌶🌶🌱🌱👍👍
aquaponics?
That drum beat hard as fuck for no reason
Where in South Africa do you live
Not good video not in details
Did you split up the two sprouts once they got bigger?
You would do that before repotting, if you were going to. At this stage, they can handle a little trauma.
You basically just highlighted the seeding and sprouting of any plant... Well done
If you think just one time enough to fill up the bucket for a whole life cycle of the tomato plants, you are serious mistaken.
😂😂😂
Absolutely.!!! I have tried Ll types of hydroponic systems, this is hit and miss, and definitely not for 1 single feed.
Django music with British accent... French Brit gardener/farmer. Love it. If I'm not mistaking they look like the typical green beans we buy in supermarket. In that case one should be able to sauté the whole thing with pod/shell and all and eat it for extra vitamin since most of the vitamins are just below the peel. The beans are the seeds and the green pod is the actual vegetable right?
How long does the roots take to grow?
What is the size of this net pot?
