This snippet captures the essence of Matavai, we stand united as Pacifica people, we recognise that we once came from the one vaka (boat), the trials and tribulations each Pacific nation has lived through and conquered over the thousands of years we remember and show our appreciation, we can come together in Australia as one people, community and family to showcase the real Pacifica.
This performance was our debut with our Maori brothers. Today our cultural center tucked away in the concrete jungles of Sydney you can hear songs of old and artforms that define the strength and history of our people.
