Personally, I feel this is such an unimportant topic it's not worth arguing about, especially if it's blocking evangelizing. As you said, there is no sin worse than another when it comes to salvation, other than arguably blasphemy. So there is little point in focusing on homosexuality versus for example the commandment given by Jesus himself Love your neighbor as yourself, which I see broken by Christians constantly. What is more, the passages that mention homosexuality that aren't even as clear-cut as that, Paul for example may have been talking more about Pederasty than Homosexuality. If it's important, it will come as a revelation, otherwise it will be just be one of our millions of sins.
