Comme j’étais limité au niveau des trains tôt le matin, je n’ai pas pu prendre le vol de 6h00 et j’ai dû faire une nuit à Barcelone. Une des possibilités serait de partir de Zurich le soir avec le vol Ethiopian en A350 pour Milan et faire une nuit à Milan puis prendre le vol du matin de Singapore qui part pour Barcelone. Ensuite tu as plusieurs possibilités pour rentrer à Genève dans la même journée. Sinon, tu peux partir de Zurich avec le vol qui part à 7h10 et arrive à 8h50 ce qui te laisse assez de temps à Barcelone sachant que tu ne dois pas changer de terminal.

The barking at the beginning? It's the PTU or Power Transfer Unit. It's a system that automatically transfers the hydraulic power from one circuit to another (the A320 has 3 hydraulic circuits, used to operate the brakes and all the different control surfaces of the plane, such as the flaps, the slats, the landing gear, the reverse, the spoilers, the rudder...). It usually happens during startup as the engines are not switched on simultaneously, resulting in a hydraulic circuit being pressurized before the others. In this video you can hear the PTU during the taxiing, the reason is unclear, but it might be because they're doing a single-engine taxi procedure to save fuel. You can also hear the PTU just after takeoff, as the gear is being retracted.

This is actually quite rare, as the conditions required to operate runway 10 take-offs occur very rarely (usually less than 5 days a year). The wind has to be « the bise » (coming from north-east) but oriented more easterly than the usual bise configuration in order to blow hard enough in Zurich. Using runway 10 for takeoff decreases 30% of Zurich airport capacity for landings & takeoff causing dalays, so in most cases, they maintain takeoffs on runway 25 (ensuring the <10 knots tailwind rule). That’s why I named it rare.

Glad you enjoyed it! Initially chose 20A as I prefer sitting behind the wing but eventually changed to 7A. There is more light reflecting on the wing/engine in front making it easier to film at night. But you’re right it’s one of the best seats as the window is well aligned and the view is great!
