The Wallie World Cup was put on by Converse and the eccentric Pontus Alv. A pretty self explanatory concept... Highest Wallie Wins the Glory and the Title!
Lev Tanju of Palace Skateboards MC'd the whole thing and offered beers for those that were wallie impaired. Each beer got you three more tries.

In the early 90s it was almost a standard to have a beat up car to skate at a demo. The Jump Ramp was a common obstacle at demo's all over the world. One man demo machine, Mike Vallely, destroys the whole skatepark. With a combination of tricks which is so synonymous with Mike Vallely everyone was screaming with excitement. In a very rural area of Germany, often unvisited by American Pros, it was very special for the scene in Oldenburg to have had a chance to see Mike Vallely live. Mike Vallely shared an intimate skate session with some locals outside the Nike SB Shelter in Berlin. After a long day at the Bright Tradeshow, he took some time out for a surprise meet and greet on the ramp. I watched him skate the 12' vert at Cheap Skates skatepark in Pennsylvania around 1990 and it was incredible! Had no idea how good he was on vert. Huge frontside stalefish, five feet high, to late fakie!

Would be amazing to be able to skate like that, imagine having that many combos where you ride. Huge duration runs like that and don't do the same trick twice.Many ramps like this are tricky because by the time you have dropped back in you are going up the other wall,one sketchy landing can Rob all your speed and make things a lot harder,Mike V style and finesse 👍
