I was reading novels and self help books. Felt a pleasure in reading, however the time spent reading took my focus away from the zikr of the heart. Now I focus on the zikr of the heart during my daily activities and looking back in retrospect those days reading novels caused a darkness in me, compared to my kafiyat now. Everyone is different maybe, but there is hadith of the Prophet Salat o Salam that the people of Jannah will regret one thing and that is the time spent on this earth not spent in the zikr of Allah SWT. May Allah SWT guide us all.

Not many people like to read especially in Asian countries... and there are still kids who are illiterate... it's really sad as the first Surah is IQRA... hopefully parents and guardians instil reading habits to their kids at a very young age...
