I can't see myself ever owning a dog but if I did it'd be a border collie. I used to have one in my house when I was a child and she was extremely smart. whenever wed give her treats she wouldn't eat them shed bury them outside in plant pots to savour them. she also used to not be allowed into our backyard garden at night which was very very big because we had a wooden fence door that she was able to sneak under and shed run to the woods which was a mile away. one night she escaped through the cat flap in the door which was tiny. her fur was all around the edges which showed an immense struggle to get out of it. we live in England and our woods can be notoriously large and our local one was as it stretched for about 50 miles in each direction. one night I went by myself with a flash light calling her name and I recalled what my father told me he saw once which was a 'man without a face' he wasn't the only one who saw this creature thing and we were told to never go out into those woods at night. as Im in the woods I became too scared as I felt something watching me so I just ran back through them to go home when I heard something immediately chase me and tackle me. it was my dog who was covered in cow shit as she loved to roll around in cow pies. great dog

She's like: Gosh, humans are so hard to train🙄

Well, i dont have kids or pets, but i can certainly draw parallels between them to see how one could say that their dog is their kid. Both depend on you to be provided for, both form some level of emotional bond with you, both are present in your life for a very significant amount of time and often share the same space. The only thing that kinda puts them apart in my eyes is you probably wouldnt say that in reverse as in "having a kid is like having a dog" though depending on situation people may treat them similarly. Anyway this puppy is clearly loved and loves and is indeed one of the prettiest dogs i ever saw. Collies are adorable and smart.
