Whatever Happened to the Movie Star?
#hollywood #hollywoodmovies #hollywoodactor #movielovers #moviediscussions #filmtalk #filmcommunity #movieactor #moviestars #filmstars #hollywoodstars #hollywoodmovies
The idea of the classic "movie star" -- someone who get butts in seats just by being themselves on screen -- has started to fade out. How exactly has the industry changed in the 21st century to cause this? Is there still hope with the new generation of up and coming stars to bring back this idea of the A-lister?

So the story "The Life of Chuck" by Stephen King isn't a horror story anyway. It's definitely supposed to be a departure from both King's and Flanagan's wheelhouse of horror. I haven't seen it yet, but as a huge fan of Tom Hiddleston, I've been following the production of "Life of Chuck" since they announced they were doing it. Yours is the first real reaction I've seen about it, so this is very heartening to hear! Also, I think you're the very first person I've ever heard actually say Chiwetel Ejiofor's name without hesitating, stumbling, or giving up entirely! I didn't even know exactly how his name was pronounced at all (even though he's a brilliant actor and I always enjoy his work), so I'm going to assume you said it correctly so... well done, lol!! I'm sorry if that came out badly, I really mean it with all respect! Anyway, thanks for your straightforward, non-spoiler reaction! I'm even more intrigued myself now!!

I actually found out about Longlegs months before it was released in July because of this offbeat marketing campaign I kept seeing the thumbails for the trailers on my RUclips feed like everyday with titles like "the Hydra" or "everyday there is another" and I was like wtf is this? LOL it looked so creepy and disturbing that I did not want to click but eventually I did and was sucked in immediately whoever did the marketing for this movie deserves a raise and they definitely did their job regardless if you think the movie was excellent or you thought the movie sucked you cannot deny the marketing campaign from beginning to end was brilliant

I heard the hype definitely impacted it negatively for some people. Can’t figure out why myself (I loved it), but expecting one thing for a long time maybe threw some people off when things turned out different. But I understand why the ending didn’t work for everyone.

Everyone in that movie is performing at their highest level, but John Cusack does such an incredible job of being a disgusting, reprehensible creep. He really makes all of the weirdness of the film work because for the most part we're seeing it through his own twisted lens. Incredible film, incredible performances all around, if it were up to me it would have been nominated for every possible award, Best Actor for Cusack, Actress for Keener, Supporting Actor and Actress for Malkovich and Diaz, Best Screenplay, Director, Production Design, Score, etc. This is really just one of the best movies ever made and I think it deserves all the praise in the world

I thought the Mr. and Mrs. Smith show was terrible. They take jobs working for a covert ops company without knowing anything about them or even question the possibility that they are the "bad guys". The missions they get sent on are ridiculous and make no sense. "Hey, go drug this guy and interrogate him..." They don't even tell them what information they want! So stupid. A successful mission could have been. "We drugged him, and found out his favorite color is blue..." . And most of the missions were that stupid. Sure you can argue that that isn't really the point of the show, but when the basic premise doesn't make any sense, everything else falls apart. There is a complete lack of verisimilitude and it fall waaaay short of what is considered a "quality" show in this day and age.

Nice video, maybe try revising the script, you tend to repeat some facts twice like on 1:30 (2 years)or 3:37 (not a true story) you could condense them in shorter sentences to avoid repetition, also you could maybe try showing some things instead of telling them, like the buffy movie or maybe a segment of the Mash soundtrack, as long as you have the footage or music available, you seem passionate about what you re talking about, hope you the best
