These audio casts are so terrific if you want to zone out while you continue your housework!

When I was young we listened to the radio every night. My mother would turn on the living room radio, loud enough for all of us to hear, and we went to sleep listening to wonderful stories. When I look back to those days, I feel we have lost that magical innocence. I still listen to the radio to sleep at night, and I'm sure that in 70 years my grandchildren will remember the magic of watching movies, anywhere they want, from their phones! Although they might complain of the headaches they get from having it all implanted in their brains.

Character actor Ray Collins, who died in 1965, is best remembered for his portrayal of LAPD Lieutenant Arthur Tragg on that classic TV courtroom drama series, "Perry Mason"!

Excellent play..I’ve been busy of late and I really enjoyed listening to this..But good gets greater.!.I’ve got some catching up to do on this channel and there is plenty of other great radio plays to choose from.. All the best to all..👍

It wasn't a hoax, it was just a radio drama, no one meant it to be taken seriously. It was the listeners who caused the panic. They lacked the ability to think critically. Thank goodness that is no longer the case...😏

I was told about the broadcast by my parents, uncles, etc., when I was young. It caused a considerable impact in my area. There's a book that's fairly easy to find, "Invasion from Mars- A Study in the Psychology of Panic" by Dr. Hadley Cantrell. It came out in 1940. A modern book, "Waging the War of the Worlds" by John Gosling is well worth finding from 2007.

Brilliant radio show, outstanding in the field of Martians booooooooooooooooo I remember these old radio shows, they were just brilliant when radio was enjoyable to listen to.

Different times but still hard to believe people actually believed this was happening, looking at people today they would probably also believe it🙄

And today, the fine line has been washed away, Reagan made sure of that.

I could not finish listening to this. The music in the background is too annoying.

Why do they refer to this as a hoax? It was a radio play and was announced as such. There was no deception and the fact that it is a fictional drama is too obvious. Some people are just dumb.

The only problem so far is that the crew dislikes the cat. Due to the time frame, cats where common on ships and a welcome companion to life aboard.
