I don’t think anyone should makeover anyone else’s house without consulting them first and showing them photographs of what they are going to do. Whatever people’s homes look like it’s their choice, not someone else’s. These programmes would be a lot more interesting if we could hear what the tenants really think instead of listening to polite answers..

Most of these supposed 60 minute makeovers are hideous. Especially this designer. I’d bawl my eyes out if he re-designed my house. He put a black carpet in a bedroom that will show every single piece of anything that lands on unless it’s black. And striped carpet with print wallpaper!! His designs are ghastly to say the LEAST!!!

Why do they have such inexperienced sewers as contestants? Only sewing for 3 years? Only ever put in 2 zippers? These are rank beginners, poor things!!

Tilley has come a long way since the show debuted. She wasn’t a good sewer on the show.

Ok if these tulip pockets are acceptable, this show is rubbish, the judges are not partial at all and the whole concept is wrong. This is garbage tv for a mediocre audience. Mark and Tilly should feel flattered to be voted out. They are far above that crap. Mark especially looks like the nicest guy.

Being called Tilly, having a grand father who was a tailor and being herself involved in stitching, now that's fate. If you don't know The house of Elliot, you won't understand the reference.

My husband is scared of needles. Quite fucking understandably so i'd rather say. Do you know how painful this is and how potentially dangerous this can be too. My partner used to sew for fun and i demanded that he had his own room and never bring a needle out of it several time while living together. I once stepped on a needle and the needle broke in my foot so i had to go to the clinic to have it removed. They had to cut the bowl of my foot with a scalpel because of how deep in went. Resulting in two stitches , unable to walk properly for a week (my job is extremely demanding physically and i have to walk constantly. Not mentioning the pain i experienced when the needle went through my foot and broke. To be quite honest, i was so pissed after this episode that two months following the incident i was moving out and living in my own place. I had a dog at that time who was already eating all the bits of threads on the floor, which is really bad for animals, and i could only imagine what would happen if he swallowed a needle. So this is certainly not a little thing to sew in a room used by other people. It shows a complete lack of consideration for other people's safety and comfort, and a very selfish personality. I wish her kid swallowed a needle once and she watches him or her choke to death in excruciating pain. See how she feels about needles after that. I like to sew and stitch every now and then, but i have a room dedicated to it. It is locked with a key, animals and kids are not allowed in and i have a metal detector wand that i use on me when i get out of the room to make sure there is not a single pin on me.

where are the pockets on the trousers ? So this is a mistake to have the fly the "wrong" side but ok to make male trousers without pockets. Where in earth have these judges earned their degree? I was watching this with my aunt who worked her entire life as a seamstress for three of the largest fashion houses in Paris and she was laughing so hard.

I don't know how anyone can concentrate with Patrick in the room.

Fly has to do with being right handed or a left handed, more than gender. I am a lefty and i ask my tailor to make my trousers with the fly on the opposite side of a regular male trousers, simply because it is more convenient to me.

This video is such a lie. I have just spent a morning trying to fit one of these Fineline curtain track and what a waste of time and money. They curtain rails are in the trash now. There are many problems with the system but the main one is that the rails are almost impossible to bend without buckling (as you would expect from bend theory in mechanical engineering). I needed to bend them through 90 degree to fit a bay. I used a large 300mm diameter guide to shape the bend and the first attempt buckled the rail making the rail useless. The second attempt trapped the guides in place in the rail and they couldn't be removed even with lubricant. Absolute dreadful product and I wish I had gone down the pub with the money that I spent on them.
