Hi how is this different from the pumps provided by discflo?
The principle is exactly the same as the Discflo. Adaptek have tweaked the basic design of the discpac (impeller) by replacing the round connecting rods with curved plate connectors that cut through the fluid and improve efficiency. All Adaptek pumps feature footed casings for true back-pull-out design. A footless unsupported casing such as the Discflo pump is not a true back-pull-out design and so requires realignment every time maintenance is performed. Not so with Adaptek pumps. Let me know if you have any other queries or even pump applications.
If a mixture of liquid-gas is required to pump, what is the volume ratio of gas-to-liquid it can actually pump before having difficulty. Disc pump has been documented to be able to handle in the 60 to 70% of solid-liquid in slurry mixture, but I am curious about mixture of gas-liquid.
Richard Nguyen the pump can, as you correctly state, handle very large volumes of gas or air. The actual limit depends on the application. Can you provide more details or is this a hypothetical enquiry?
Hi, it was like 10 year ago project, when our university(Polytechnique School of Montreal) was interested at studying void fraction for the boiler industries. The funding was lacking and another project was favored instead. The configuration rig was to study various range of pressure and to observe the performance. Actually, we were to play with all possible condition such as RPM, suction and discharge pressure,etc. Let's say it's for curiosity, as I don't think the project will have a chance to be resurrected again.
