Took a bit of time but now the transcription is done. I haven't found any live videos of the song so it is what it is but it sounds pretty accurate to me.

It is probably all the guitars and the original recording that makes it sound like an effect on my sound. It is just two guitar tracks panned left and right through Neural DSP: Gojira with an eq and an overdrive pedal. And Fishman Fluence pickups on the passiv mode on a 27 inch Solar guitar. The recorded guitar sounds like or have some reverb and maybe chorus but I am not sure.

No, not until you mentioned it. Sounds like a cool song to learn, no live videos so it will take a bit longer to transcribe but I'll give it a shoot.

Thanks! I think I started transcribing Coming Down but didn't finish it, there are no good live videos of it so It takes me a bit longer to figure out. But I'll check it out when I have time, it is a really good song!

Yeah, and Odd Fellow Rest sounds a bit sharp (a bit higher tuned, probabaly due to being recorded on tape) to my ears which makes some of the chromatic riffs kind of hard to transcribe. A lot of people play the intro riff starting at the sixth fret but watching the live video I linked to that isn’t the case. I try to get a video to reference my tabs to get as correct as possible, but if they change up songs live it is not always helpful😉

@@markuslindstrom2775right, lol. I’ve been starting on the sixth fret and go 2-0 at the end of the main riff. They don’t make it easy for us!😂

A lot of older records recorded on tape can be a bit off from standard tuning. If the tape machines used varied in speed it can go a bit sharp/flat or some bands (like Pantera or Machine Head)use a tuning that is 10-20 cents sharp or flat. I am not that great at tuning my guitar to a record - so take my insights with a grain of salt - but my eyesight is still pretty good and Crowbar plays the intro riff as I transcribed it on the live video I checked.

I mainly use Neural DSP Gojira, an overdrive pedal and an EQ pedal into Logic when I record. So no real amps or miking up cabinets. I record two guitars, one hard panned right and one hard panned left to get more practise in and get my guitars to be a bit louder than the actual recording I play over.

@@clk69 I tend to use pretty light strings, I have a custom 008-074 set of Ernie Balls on it right now and use it for standard F# and the drop E tuning.
