Did this work? I have a 2000 durango rt and im thinking about getting a nitrous kit
@@landonbrewer110 oh yes this absolutely worked
So what was the issue?
@@zombie21boy honestly nothing was wrong with it just did the video to be helpful
Dammit man 😂
@@wadekissam22 I got a locker in it now bud 🤣
@@MoparMattt hell yea man I’ve not broke a spartan locker yet
Its got that 456k to 1 gear ratio
You can get to the resistor under the hood and wiper blades by the fire wall… it comes right out
I’m thinking about doing one 2001 swap Can you tell me if the 360 will bolt straight up to the stock transmission? Please
Yes it will physically bolt up bell-housing bolt pattern is the same.
Im considering the 5.9 bc it was an auto and can bolt right into my 2003 3.9v6 4x4, but i think it’d also be cool to swap a ram 5.7l v8 and auto trans into it. It’d be a more lengthy process but the power (like 300 stock, close to 1000 if you do headers, 3rd gen head itself & gap the rings with a tune or supercharger.) but the 5.9 would be the easiest
I've thought about v8 swapping my 97 3.9. would I still be able to use my transmission and transfer case? Or would I need to get those out of a v8 truck also?
The engine will technically bolt right to it however the transmission may not last long as those transmissions weren’t made for that power. Transfer case is the same regardless so if you did want to do the swap I’d get a 46re trans to go with the 5.2/5.9 engine as far as the swap itself you’re only a computer and running 2 ground trigger wires to pcm for your 2 other injectors and tapping into the injector harness for the power for your other 2 injectors away from doing it it’s pretty easy to be honest.
@@MoparMattt i appreciate the feedback. 👍
Absolutely friend hope it helps you out 👍🏼
Where did the axles go if it's 4x4 😂
Literally you explained rite after I said that lol
😂
Get it!!!
Where did you get those coilover shocks for the dokota? I’m struggling to find a set
They are just spring assisted shocks I’ll see if I can get you a part number but I wanna say when I got them they are called load carrier shocks and I think these might be for the rear shocks for a f150 lol but I’ll see if I can find out more for you these have been on there for years now hard to remember.
Ok so don’t quote me on this but I believe the part number for these was 34058 Gabriel load carrier shocks and if I remember correctly they came in a pair so that part number is for the both of them. But then again it has been a long time ago since I put those on but if nothing else that’ll get ya headed in the right direction, hope this helps!
Another dislike on that pointless video
😂 What is this the factory high speed rev limiter kicking in? I know the low speed rev limiter on 4.7 Dakotas comes in pretty early at like 3000 RPM. That's the one when it's in neutral or park (no load). I don't know what they set the high speed (in gear) limiter at. I know my Dakota doesn't show a redline on the tachometer. I think it goes to 7000 or 8000. That's because these engines are small displacement and they can handle 7000 RPM no problem. It's not good to spend a bunch of time up there though, if you want your engine to last for a while! LMAO 😅😂😅 Unless you actually put an MSD 2-step box on the ignition. The computer has it built in on all newer vehicles OBDII systems. You might be able to change the settings with a good computer tuner. 👍
This was just the old worn out v6 and the crank was wobbling enough for the flex plate to come in contact with the crank position sensor at high rpm’s so what we’re hearing is the crank position shorting out causing it to cut ignition lol. Also this was before I v8 swapped the truck and I didn’t care about the old engine so I was just beating the crap out of it before I swapped engines. This engine still ran when I pulled it lol
I’ve ran into so many roadblocks wi th this
Hey Matt! I'm doing this today. Having a tough time getting off the things to fill it back up. I understand using pliers to remove hose, but how did you get the rest of the fill plug off?!?
Sorry just got off work and it just had an o ring on it to the best of my memory we don’t have this car anymore or I’d go check for ya anyways so you may have to turn it a few times and just pull straight up and out hope this helps!
this blower motor is so different from postings for a 1999-2000 dakota ? they show blower at 12-6 position bottom mount? tthanks Richard C
How difficult was this swap?
Literally bolts in if you already have a v8 but if you have a v6 as far as wiring it’s either getting the wiring harness out of the donor truck and it’s plug and play or the way I did it. Basically you have to run the negative side of the 7&8 injectors over to the pcm and pin them into the connector mine just look up a pcm pinout diagram itll show your where to PIN number 7&8 as far as the positive side of the injectors you just tap right into the green/orange wire that powers all the injectors. I’m not sure if the coloring will be the same from truck to truck but essentially the injectors have two wires coming out of them one of the wires will be the same color on all of them that’s your positive side and the other wire is your ground trigger wires that run to the pcm. That being said you’ll also need a pcm for a v8 the same year as your truck. And if you’re just talking about the headers they are literally bolt in you might need to buy bolts if your headers don’t come with them. Hope I covered everything you were asking lol if need be I can make a video of how I did it.
Holy shit no way that’s stock
Yeah I loved that car too bad it blew the head gaskets out of it about 2 months later but it truly was stock lol it hurt some feelings
They really are that fast. I had the lower powered northstar and it was almost as fast up to 50 mph.
S’mores, anyone?
🪦😂
Thanks for this, thought I was going to pull a dash tomorrow!
Thanks for your video and the transmission fluid drain plug location at 5:29 👍‼️
You’re very welcome glad to help!
What does the little black hard plastic vacuum line attach to in the heater box
That goes through the fire wall for you dash vents
I’ll have to look I forgot I’ll get back to you
I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT it looks like your dash in the video is my blower resistor located in the same spot as yours? Let me know thanks.
More than likely I’d say it is sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday.
Huge time saver
Glad it helped you out brother!
Got the new blower In and can’t get the cover back on the box worth a fuck been at it for 3 hours now
Bro. I'm going on 3 days now and it's been anywhere from 5-20 degrees outside. I'm just finishing it finally.
Thanks for not telling anyone what size sockets you used. It really added a degree of excitement and mystery for me when I was trying to learn something.
Whoopsie sorry about that
Really? How rude.
13mm mounting bolts, 8mm top for all but the 2 9mm for the 2 regulator thingy
Thanks Bro for showing me where the fill plug for the transmission on this 2003. I said I wanted to research it and see it with my own two eyes and know that I know
Absolutely glad it could be of help!
Great video thanks!
I broke my cover. Cut my damn hand. Now I'm headed to the junkyard to find another cover. What a pain in the but.
I just broke mines too just enjoying to see the fan but I'ma just use some good ole duck tape to patch the hole 😂
When you replace your air filter with aftermarket ones did you put any more parts just to make it fit and where can I find one?
No extra parts just kinda shoved the tube in the filter and I got it from the autozone where I work at I believe the name brand on it is spectre. Just took the top of the air box off and the filter just lays right there.
hey dude i got a dodge dakota RT 03 - built up.. i need new headers.. think it would be worth me getting cheap 100 dollar ebay headers or should i go with the 300-500 name brand ?
If you want good fitment go with the better ones I put these cheap ones on and now I can’t change my spark plugs cause the flange is too fat. The cheap ones are also thin metal so they get red quick too, so if you can I’d go with the good ones!
If it was a 2001-04 the fan drops out the bottom after you take out 3 screws.
I appreciate your video. I have a question though would it make any difference to drain the tranny first? I just wanna eliminate the mess if I can.
I honestly don’t think it would make a difference but I’m not 100% certain on that. It definitely will not hurt to drain first but I’d say it’s still going to hold some fluid in the filter so it’s more than likely going to spill some. Also thanks for the comment hope it helped!
It absolutely did.
Anyone else looking to upgrade your 2000-2002 4x4 dodge dakota front brakes, Try to find a 2003 Durango at a salvage yard so you can take the whole knuckle. Brakes, rotors and all. You'll love it
As many times as I’ve been to pull a part and I never thought of that thank ya sir greatly appreciate that!
Yo. I have the same truck. My favorite mod I did was switch my front spindle knuckles to a 2003 Durango. They have a caliper bracket and a dual cylinder break caliper. Truck stops on a dime and no more stupid front break shoes if u know what I mean. only thing is u must have 16in rims. 15s are too small
100% do not try to pull the plug through and expect to get it back through. cut wires at the motor and rewire to new motor. saying from experience... still got it to work but had to run the wires out the bottom and not the top
I did this exact same thing, also did you notice that when you have the big 13mm mounting bolt out if you start the engine and have a/c on, blower motor won't work, the door locks won't work and the engine will stay on until you turn off the A/c 😂 weirdest thing haha
Wtf The motors is held in by 3 bolts..you don't need to disassemble the dash at all .Rookie
I think it is for certain models this one ain't so easy.
I mean its appreciated information. But incomplete, no vehicle info in title
2nd gen this is a 2000 model
Hey good job man I took mine apart and my torsion bar is a bitch to get on. Amy tips? And also I gotta replace my control arms with aftermarket ones mine are worn out you know where I can find them? I search and searched for months I swear. I got a 93 4x4 dakota v8 Plz help lol
I will look and see what I can find out when I go into work later. To answer your question about the torsion bar if it’s too tights to be able to get back together you can always loosen the torsion bar adjuster bolt which will decrease the pressure allowing you to put everything back together, once you do this you will have to retighten the torsion back up once on the ground and then just tighten till you get back to the same height you were at before you started. So measure where you were at before loosening the torsion bar then finish the job at hand then once back together retighten to get back to same height.
GREAT VIDEO--the only one I've found on this, and it's clear, especially the very last part of getting the filter off, which is the most complicated part. **So you didn't have to drain the ATF before replacing the ATF filter, correct?
Correct I did not drain the fluid before doing this I had already refilled the transmission with fresh fluid beforehand. Also thanks I’m glad it helped! I really hope this helps many more thank you for commenting!
@@MoparMattt I had actually gotten to the very last part, new filter and o-ring in hand, and couldn't figure out what to do, and put it all back together. Now I know what to do, woo-hoo! :) Yeah, if you put "2003 Honda Pilot" in the title or description it might help more people find it--there all kinds of videos for other years, but not this one.
