I am currently on my 7th blood thinner horribly allergic to all of them! I am trying to get an appointment with two doctors in the Metroplex who do the Watchman procedure! I am currently on (Pradaxa,The itching is slowly driving me mad! I am praying I can get the procedure as I cannot tolerate blood thinners!

The watchman helps with stroke . It does nothing for afib.stop bs ing the public.what you are talking about is the watchman is a plug for a small sack on the upper left part of the heart that does nothing but increce stroke..electrical problems in the top left part of the heart when fixed stops afib. Do your homework and you will fond out how doctors are after your cash and beary there screwups.

Unfortunately; This is just a smart advertisement for the so called (watchman device ). It’s much better to tie or even exclude the Lt Appendage rather than just insert a strange object ( like the watchman device) into the heart chamber. In fact : one would also need to use blood thinners because the occlusion of Lt appendage protects partially from clot formation- I knew all these documented data from my personal experience and suffering as an AFib patient

A fib has the bleeding issue which can cause a stroke. It also has the potential of the heart beating at a very fast pace that can lead to an emergency room. It also can cause a person to walk only a few steps and run out of air. Does the watchman address the fast pace heart and the inability to breath after a few steps?

I learned of the procedure from a poster in my eletrophysiologist office. I asked him about the procedure because the eliqust {blood thinner} is so expensive. I can get it thought Bristol Meyers free but I have to get the first fill myself to meet a deductible, so it costs $546. Any way he said I was a good candidate but because I do not have a problem with bleeding I could not have it done. Other criteria for it is if there is a problem with falling and hemorrhaging or internal bleeding from the blood thinner. It took a day but I figured the criteria were in place for a reason. The insurance companies don't want to pay for the procedure and the pharmaceutical companies want to continue the get the outrageous money for their drugs.
