Solo Overlanding Trip | South Carolina | Ford Raptor | Preparation and Travel - Episode One
On this first episode of my SCAR Trip. I accept the offer to travel to South Carolina for a wedding. With intention of adventuring through the South Carolina Adventure Route (SCAR).
I prepare the Raptor for a week long overlanding trip through the rural side of South Carolina. Finish sealing the bed, install all electronics, plumb and finish the water tank/pump install. And start building the shelves/cubbies.
Once the trip starts from Wisconsin. I decide to take a little detour, wake up a little, and stop in Williamsburg, Kentucky. I completed the Longbottom to River Rd. trail off of the KAT.
After finishing the extremely skinny trail, I end this episode getting ready to finish the commute ...

Could you have used a adapter on the USB power wire. Micro to USB c to the each dashcam? If so it saves you a lot of time
which product did you use to seal the bed?
Great video! There must be a way of tapping into the stock mirror wires for power instead of running to fuse box. Also, does the mirror auto dim?

It appears you did not wire up the reverse light trigger wire. ?? That wire makes the camera view change when in reverse and give you parking lines too.
You are correct. I did not. As I stated. I’m really only using this is a rear view mirror. Not a backup camera. Therefore. I don’t want the parking lines. And it lives in the rear camera view anyways. So I don’t need it to change when it goes into reverse. I still have the factory backup camera on the truck. And that works significantly better as a backup camera
Which rack are you running that you mounted your tent to, and how did it mount above your tonneau cover? I’m looking for one that can mount via T- bolts, and I like how your tent sits below or flush with your roof line.

Hey, do you know why the ecopowerparts website isnt working? By the I mean the checkout. When I try to purchase the kit it just says "checkout unavailable". Ive tried contacting support but nothing. Really wanted to make this swap happen on my truck haha
Is this like a rear dashcam?, or does this work as a back up camera where it only turns on the screen camera when I put it in reverse?, please let me know!
It’s a front and rear dash cam. And yes you can wire it to only turn the rear camera on when you put it in reverse
Does this have live feed? For example, while at work can I check the cam live while my car is parked in the parking lot???

Is it possible to turn off the 1,2,5 minute loop and just record continuously, for example an hour or more at one time? Thanks.
I believe it records continuously, that setting just changes how long each file is. It makes the file sizes more manageable. A 4K + 2.5K recording file of an hour or more would be a HUGE file.

No I didn’t. Have a lot more content coming. Life just gets busy sometimes. And need to prioritize things

Sweet set up .. stoked they came out for the f150… the bed build out and accessories really make the package come together but damn shit get expensive..

You can easily mount it wherever you want. I have a camper on the bed of the truck. So the third brake light area is useless. That’s why it has the image angle that it does. But that’s also why I mainly got this. So that I could actually see behind me. Not for backup up, but for normal driving.

isnt the bolt pattern on the 2011 to 2016 superduty steering wheel the same as todays f250 steering wheels
The video for the rear camera starts to move in a wavy form when I turn the music volume all the way up. When dial it down then it goes back to normal. Any idea why? None of the cables are touching any metal part of the car.
The subwoofer is likely in the back and is probably shaking the camera.
I live in SC and looking forward to doing this route this spring and summer.
Does this work on the 2010 which doesn’t have the manual shift button on the shifter?
I thought you would show how you ran the wires and mounted the rear camera.

Did you use a generic mounting plate? With the current Wolfbox plate you can't leave those plastic and rubber pieces in the rear mounting points, they would be in the way. You also have to reuse the screws that you remove because they only supply screws for the swivel mount.

I can’t believe it took me this long to find your channel, I just started building out my gen 1 raptor for trips. Just been nervous about it with their known issues and the torsion front diff hates to turn in 4wd! I know this video is older but keep up the good work! I’m gonna record my entire first trip, up in Colorado and Utah!

How do you view the video files on your phone if you need to show the police if there’s no WiFi?
OTG cable and SD card to USB adapter. Plug into phone and upload to phone or play from the files

Good times Offroad. We go winter camping in the CANADIAN ROCKIES with a diesel heater i mounted in a weather proof case, plumb it into the Annex and nuce cozy in our Treeline Outdoors tent.I looked into one of those tailgate pads, too crazy expensive for a chunk of thick plastic cutting board. Have fun
Hello Jurassic. Great explanation and video. I have one question. I have prius 2023 purchased the g900 but the prius has dual ball for mirror and for windshield. Where can I find plate adapters for an specific car?? Prius LE 2023 plate adapter or how can I search. I already tried not find matches

Water is just not good to drive through if it gets into the vent tubes of your axels ,transmission etc. Its fun but potentially costly.
