Rock tumbler update, the continuing story, of these beautiful stones
This. Is just a glimpse into my rock tumbling quarry.
I call in it The willy wonky rock quarry.
My husband built my tumbler, he called it the Willy Wonka.
I'm pretty lucky.
I've been tumbling stones for about four years now.
I love to make videos, and im so glad that people live to watch them.
It's normally raw unedited footage, and I ramble on a bit 🤣🤣
It's been quite a journey.
I'm excited to be adding a new piece of equipment to my quarry soon.
You'll have to check back in to see it.

Birdlings flat Rock tumble, stage one ,80 grit

These are stones I collected on my rock hunting trip to the south Island last year. I've already tumbled lots of them, but these have been sitting in the bucket, waiting. I've started them off in my 4 pound lortone barrel, with 80 grit. Of course I always put in a tablespoon of Borax to the mix. I had intended to do the whole tumbled process in one long video, but you'll just have to wait each ...

My gosh they are so beautiful. You do such a great job on cutting and polishing them. How exciting to be getting a vibratory tumbler soon :)
@@upnorthadventureswithccc yes , the ones that came out of the 600 barrel are so pretty. Oh yes I'm so excited to be getting a vibe. We have a new supplier in NZ, who is importing all these amazing things into the country. Previously it was too expensive for me.
@@upnorthadventureswithccc I'll be doing a special vid on the vibe. I hear that they are pretty reasonable to buy in the USA though.
Crazzzzy nice stons❣️
amazing!
@@ArleneIaconelli-b7b thank you
WOW just AMAZING! I just started rock hounding this spring 2024 still have lots to learn. Hopefully I will get be able to do the things you are doing here in the video soon. I have just started cutting only cut about 10/15 rocks so far. I have been practicing on the smaller not so nice one's 1st before I cut into the really nice agates. jaspers that I have. Would love to see some of your cutting work/videos. I love the fact you didn't make them all perfectly round/circles like lots do here. I like them with a lil more character like that. I am new to the channel; I am going to see if you have some. Thank you for sharing awesome work!!

We have taken on Rockhounding as a Hobby about a year ago. We do Lapidary also. Rosie my WIFEEE/50yeras does the Tumbling/Vibratory as well as Cabbing- Dang can she Cut and Polish Jade. Her tumbling is excellent. We Do Not Sale or Resale Products. What we do is Donate to Children's Organizations Regardless of Beliefs as well Status- EVERY CHILD GETS A NECKLACE WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO TUMBLED/POLISHED STONES TO INTERCHANGE OUT. The Majority of Children seem to go for the Quartz Rocks. We also donate to Battered Women / Men and Hopefully soon to Veterans. We LOVE what we do. We take care of all expenses. Oh yeah, we also do a variety of Rocks/Minerals into Cabochons' and place a Bale or Drill a hole for the pendant.

SAW PREVIOUS VIDEO AND I AM INTRIGUED. I SEE YOU DID NOT TRIM MOST OF YOUR CUTS. SAW THEY VIDEO OF POLISHED CABS BEFORE THIS VID. WHAT IS THE ESTIMATED THICKNESS OF YOUR CABS BEFOR TUMBLING? NOW DID YOU JUST COMBINED ALL THE SAME HARDNESS OF STONES IN ONE BARREL- EXAMPLE ALL AGATES IN ONE BARREL??? ALL JASPERS IN ONE BARREL??? DID YOU COMBINED BOTH AGATES AND JASPERS INTO ONE BARREL??? NOW SHOULD WE TUMBLE STONES WITH LIKE HARDNESSES???
The cabs are basically stones cut in half, and larger stones sliced They are all varying thickness, maybe half a cm? Most of the stones are the same hardness, the odd one is softer. Sorry it took so long to answer

@@ROCKINWHEELERS they were all a similar type of stone. I didn't trim them up really neat because I like the rustic look of them. But I possibly will trim a few if they get chippy. It's a bit of an experiment.

All your cut rocks look so perfect in shape and size. Just amazingly beautiful❤
Thank you so much. It's easy to get them all in a nice shape, when I start with such rounded stones. I'm really loving the cutting.
Amazing, looks dangerous, well done 😮
No , not dangerous at all.
You should be wearing safety gloves. The cuttings are very beautiful. I hope you show how you turn them into jewelry.
@@tmross4 I'll definitely post updates on the jewelry. There's a few videos of what I've made in the past. I'm not sure about the gloves though, the blade is not a Sharp blade, I feel that the use of gloves is more dangerous. Do you cut Stones ???, do you use gloves. I welcome all advice
@@tmross4 I also like the feel of the raw stone in my hand. The blade is pretty safe, it's not sharp, it grinds the stone. Of course you still have to be careful.
@@tmross4 really dangerous to use gloves 😊😊
As an engineer wearing gloves with any type of rotating machinery is very dangerous. The blade actually grinds the stone rather than cutting so is quite safe for the hands although caution should still be used and glasses are a must
