"Hugging the Bear" is a film about a journey. Take a journey and enjoy the breathtaking South African Drakensberg in all its fly-fishing glory. This is simply the story of three mates who explore a river that is relatively hard to find, and who develop an obsession with the fish, the place, and the adventure.

We fished the Lower Molenaars beat, it was a tough day out with only catching 2 small trout, nothing too big, and a shit ton of bass. There are 2 dams on Paarl mountain that deliver well. Nantes dam and Bethel dam. The Berg river also has some smallies

Hi guys. I thought the "cascades" above midmar are a no go area now. Are we allowed to flyfish there again?
To be honest, it’s been a while since going down there but I have heard that they have closed that area off to the public....conventional fishermen used to leave the place in a mess so I don’t blame them as I think it is private land....I think if you came on a boat from the dam side you could probably fish there but they have fenced it from the bridge down...
