CNC milling hinge pockets for cabinet doors.
Using my homemade CNC machine from a grizzly G0704 mill, to mill out pockets for cabinet doors. I've done this in the past and it results in a very accurate hinge fit. Also shows you can do some wood working on a metal working machine. And tolerances in woodworking are childs play compared to metal working! :)
The software I'm using is Linux CNC.

    Thats cool couple questions First have you tried 2x4 1/8 wall on the hard way? and How much of a distortion on the square is there?

    • @gordonfrank
      @gordonfrank 2 месяца назад

      I have not; only the 2x2 with 1/16th wall. I think it would struggle to bend 1/8" the hard way. This machine is not rigid enough.

    Chord would actually be where the radius starts and stops. A chord is any straight line across the a circle including the diameter. But extremely impressive and I’m here for your advice. lol 😊

    Man I’m trying to bend 2x2 square tubing but it’s bending so ugly , do you have any tips on how to bend ?

    • @gordonfrank
      @gordonfrank 4 месяца назад

      How thick are the side walls on what you're trying to bend? The 2x2 I'm bending in this video is 14 gauge. 14 gauge is .08" of 1.62mm.

      Cabinet door hinges. Same hinges that Menards uses for their Klearvue cabinets. I really like the hinges and using CNC is much more accurate/repeatable than drilling by hand.

    Why not put some scale where the top drive wheel is to measure how far down it is? This way you will know how far to push it down to get specific radius (obviously also depends on spacing of the bottom wheels so idk 5 scales needed?)

    That was nearly useful. Using a pipe threader is brilliant but since the design requires parts that don't exist and have to be fabricated from a lathe it is not useful to other people.

    • @gordonfrank
      @gordonfrank 2 года назад

      Only useful if you have the tools to build. Otherwise, you'll need to buy one.

    • @fishhuntadventure
      @fishhuntadventure Год назад

      …buy a small lathe, or use a drill press to hold the workpiece and a 4-1/2” angle grinder to shape dies or whatever. What I’m confused over your comment is that this is a vid about FABRICATING STUFF so your comment doesn’t make any sense. I don’t have a machine lathe myself, but I have a wood lathe with a three-jaw chuck, die grinders, angle grinders, files, sandpaper….. I use basic tools to make more sophisticated tools, and the sophisticated tools to make even better tools. Sometimes I buy tools like vises, wood chisels, wrenches, cordless drills, a shop press, welders, and other stuff. I’m thinking you just aren’t a fabricator. Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t make it stupid.

      Not sure why it wouldn't. I bot the pipe threader in April. Maybe they've added a safety feature....hard telling. I kept mine triggered the whole time. If you zoom in you can see I put a velcro strap around the trigger. Then used a footpedal control from Harbor Freight to power on/off.

      There are no rubber inserts for the 2013 Sequoia front wipers. I had to buy the wiper arm/blade as a unit - not the entire blade, just the piece with the rubber blade.

      I bought the rubber insert from Bosch and it worked fine, didn't have to buy the whole unit Toyota was charging around 180 dollars for both. I got mine for around 25 dollars from souq.com.

      I just buy the wiper blades from Toyota and they are $20 each. I like the manufacturers wipers better for my Toyota. Murad, not sure where you are located, but $180 is reaaaal steep. Are you sure that price wasn't for the entire wiper arm? Btw, those Bosch are wiper blades and not rubber inserts.

    • @mmuradiqbal-technuggets-ja3597
      @mmuradiqbal-technuggets-ja3597 7 лет назад

      +Methodical2 yes I bought the complete arm which includes inserts. Inserts weren't separately available from Toyota dealership in UAE. They told me Toyota doesn't make inserts separately so you've to buy the whole unit. Hence I bought this one from Bosch.
