When I tried pulling at the sides like in the video the plastic frame pulled down a bit. I thought this might be a spring loaded thing but no joy there either.

Didn't work with ours , the only way was to pull the plastic edge down slide the glass centre piece out of the frame enough to access the lightbulb . Swap the precious lightbulb, then slide centrepiece back. Plastic frame springs back in .

I PRESSED THE CLOCK BUTTON BUT WHEN I PRESSED THE NUMBERS NOTHING HAPPENS AND WHEN I PRESS THE CLOCK BUTTON IT ADDS AN EXTRA 0 AT THE FRONT AND IT KEEPS BLINKING AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE 0 DISAPPEARS

I know it’s been 3 years but hopefully you reply, do I just have to make sure my stove top is unused and cool for a couple of hours before attempting this or do I have to turn off anything beforehand?

Dude!! Thank you for posting this simple answer. Fumbled around with this thing for a while before I found your gem of a video.

One thing you forgot to mention: There is a bolt and wingnut in the center of the assembly that can bump into the bulb. As a result you may need to use a bulb that has a narrow shape instead of the regular ball shape.
