In fact, in 73, Israel held back to avoid a preemptive attack to claim the ever so precious “optics”. Both wars were well played. Yet this October 7 war is portrayed differently than 48, 67 and 73. Israel has the military upper hand. The (media)optics make Israel the oppressor. The war is lasting much longer than prior wars. Not because of its size or intensity but because of the confined space which Israel is expected to thread the needle. Yes, the death toll is lopsided. But in the prior wars there were soldiers in uniforms, tanks and jets. There was no urban warfare or blending of the enemy with their willing population. Now, the exploitation of geopolitical tensions is exasperated by a vapid media seemingly orchestrated by the enemy. The enemy of today doesn’t accept defeat even when they have been defeated unlike prior wars. This war is not like the prior wars. The reverberations will not be like the prior war. Winning a war in the past required decisive military cunning and domination. Not today, the forces of the media and the left will try to declare the winner. The winner won’t be judged the same as in past wars.

As for Naser, he lied to King Hussain by telling him that Egypt has destroyed 80% of the Israeli Air force in the six days war, when the opposite was correct, the few aircrafts that managed to take off were shot out of the sky and the rest of the Egyptian air force were burning on ground., and the Egyptian soldiers took off their shoes and ran towards the Suez Canal. King Hussain believed Naser and started using his limited air force to attack Israel during which Jordan lost every single aircraft they had. As for the Golan heights it is a long story. Israel defeated Egypt in 4 days Jordan in few hours and Syria in a day or two.
