Finished tearing down the block to check our cylinders, one was beyond a simple hone job with fresh rings and a couple pistons. Everything was inspected and found a lot of damage but luckily I keep all my good parts from motors Iv bought over the years.

If you put aloe vera on immediately afterwards there will be no chemical burn. I use 99% pharmaceutical grade dmso and have had no chemical burns with this method.
Hey my clutch won’t engage
@@Trenchboi69 did you install the disc backwards? Did you torque all your pressure plate bolts evenly?
If you have a clutch kit and no alignment tool it's just a tool kit
This is factual thing to do with to my knowledge with the digital equipment .. I'm not gonna say only digital to my knowledge ..
Any thing related to ESAB and they are bought into several different companies and brands including thermal dynamics anything if them leads are not plugged in the machines will register errors.. and that is all the leads for what it doing including gas.. don't forget this .. I'm not speaking for or on nothing else but ESAB and friends related problems
Plug ur leads in brother .. welcome to the digital world
@@JerryEastwood so you think….. not only I overlooked this but Esab itself overlooked this when it was taken in for repair? If that was the case you’d be a highly desirable repair tech.
Looks dustry.you should clean it atleast once a week with dry compressed air to avoid damaging electronics componets
Where can I find one
In 15 years Iv found 3 and bought them all. Iv seen a couple more in the Midwest but they’ve been sold or scrapped. I’m in the middle of diesel swapping my escort wagon now, the swap is done but I dicked up the radiator so I gotta swap it out
Except what about when the socket dislodges inside when you try to pull it out.
A little tape will snug up a loose socket, and if it does come off it can’t really fall far since the clutch is between the pressure plate and flywheel at that point
@@wellscody86 And then you have to unscrew the thing again and screw it back on. Is it really worth it to do this when the tool costs 18 dollars? You're already saving 100's of dollars doing the job yourself. Why not spend the minimum to have the correct tool that is so cheap anyway.
@@MrBojangles901 it’s not about trying to save money, it’s about being able to think outside the box, use what you have available and the ability adapt and overcome. Again this clutch kit for this engine / trans doesn’t come with the alignment tool, and I wasn’t able to source one. And to your point- most-not all but most clutches would have ample room to use your finger to grab the socket if it fell into the plate fingers, if not a magnet would surly get it out. Your arguing something you probably don’t have a ton of experience with so the fear of the unknown isn’t worth the potential inconvenience for you and that’s fine, that kind of thing happens to me all the time with different projects that I’m not super confident or knowledgeable about and sometimes it bites me in the ass but I always learn something
Brilliant! Thank you!
Bro,what did you do with the machine?could you repair it?
Sent it to Esab for repair, they couldn’t figure out what was wrong, they couldn’t fix it but charged for service and didn’t warranty the machine.
Have you tried blowing the damed thing out. The trouble with a dusty environment, is that the dust and metal particles can become electrically charged inside the machine and short thi gs out. Causeing massive problems to the mother board. Especially with the new inverters. It isnt onky a an issure with ESAB, but all inverter technology
The outside was dirty at time of video, the inside was clean as there is a filter at the air intake duct. It’s an Esab thing for sure, they couldn’t fix it or even find the problem.
@@gmacka6333 all welders are power inverted capacitor technologies everything digital.. will have this power source especially if it's corded and plugged into a wall socket.. house or industrial it's inverted power equipment that has its own power source via a generator can be a direct DC lay out but dedicated DC anything welding AC is inverted power
Like your videos, Personally I would knurl it and keep it std bore. Those things have such thin walls everyone I have seen go .030 over had air bubbles in the cooling system after do to cavitation unless you sleeve it somehow. Hope the best for you.
Your ahead of the curve, one hole hit a cavitation at .030 and now we going down to standard 6.9 bore sleeve 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻
@@wellscody86 Only bad thing about a 7.3 is the thin walls. I think a studded 6.9 with 7.3 rockers is the ticket.
@@wildrosegarage4208 it’s getting sleeved to 4.00 6.9 standard bore and will likely get some boost , already have studs on hand. Building my 6.9 block with studs and 7.3 rockers with comp springs
@@wellscody86 Good combo. I just have a n/a 6.9 these days but 15 years ago I had about the wildest idi around at the time there is guys making big power now. It was a 93.5 factory turbo long block with a hypermax turbo on it non wastegated. Dps custom pump (120cc) dps stage 1 injectors, Snow performance water meth 650ml/min, Hypermax cowl intake it held together for as long as I had it at 20psi boost on stock head bolts. Had 500k mile when I sold it. Nice talking to someone who knows what there doing. Nolan.
For glow plugs I use a 1/4" drive 1/4" deep socket and a 1/4" U joint 1/4" ratchet and extension dont need to remove anything using that.
use your eyeball if you have no tool. get the splines centered on the bearing. its easier with a bearing as a bushing doesnt have seals and the center to line up on. Do NOT pull it in with the bolt, do it by hand.
😕 P R O M O S M
Did you ever find out the problem mine just started doing the same thing and it’s also out of warranty and it probably has 40 hours of light work in a garage at home
No, took to Esab tech, they swapped all boards, factory reset by computer not the one on machine- Esab could not find the problem or fix it, wouldn’t warranty it and wouldn’t give me a deal to replace it so I went back to miller. Oh and even tho they couldn’t find or fix the problem they left me with a $260 labor bill.
@@wellscody86 so looks like I have a 2500 dollar paperweight well that sucks but thanks for the reply I have been looking all over the internet trying find a fix before I took it to the shop but seems like that’s not going to work so I’ll just save the money
Exactly how I felt, I still have mine, I kick it every once in a while and plug it in hoping maybe one day it will half function but hasn’t happened yet, you can try and contact them and see if they can help you out - worth a shot. There’s a reason my small little shit channel has this many views on one video. Lots of these machines had issues or were dead out of the box. For about the same money I got a bigger miller with a good warranty and the Esab repair facility told me he’d stick to Lincoln or miller.
@@wellscody86 ya I’ll try and get ahold of them and see if they know what the problem is they should know how to fix it after this many people had the same problem with it but I’m not spending any money on it for them to tell me that they can’t do anything about it
@@wellscody86 if I hear anything back from them that may help anyone I’ll post it on here
You're supposed to heavily dilute it, ya duntz 😂
Hindsight is always 20/20. 😂
Yo did your flywheel bolt break off 😢
That’s an alignment dial pin not a bolt.👍🏻

I have not been that entertained in a long time. The commentary made it hilarious. They for sure got me subscribing. I hope this video finds its way to other people’s recommended. Can’t wait to see what comes out of the engine block.
Might wanna do that to the block too. if all that was in the rad, then i can't imagine whats hiding in those coolant passages.
Maybe try mixing some air in with the water. I have found it can agitate the flow and knock more crap out. Also reverse the flow too, Good luck!
That rad needed some peptobismol jeeze i might reccomend some kind of after treatment to prevent this from happening again
We’re going to soak it in some cleaner and douche it again, probably put it back in service or save it for the IH 1800 manure spreader project-
Glad he had that bucket
You should see what came out of the bucket- it’s on the full length video

Hi are the clutch plate supposed to make little noise when you shake them thanks
The center hub will sometimes be a bit noisy and clatter, when installed and in use it shouldn’t make any noise.
@@wellscody86 thank you and the springs in the clutch plate are they supposed to have little movement
Yes they will have a little shake to them, if they are about falling out I’d replace the clutch- but new out of the box they are not always tight in the perch.
@@wellscody86 thanks so i should be good with the one i got then as its just little movement when i move it with hand but does not move when i shake it
That’s how it should be, the springs are what cushions the apply of the clutch so it’s not jerky.
Good deal brother
Awsome
Is the 205i better i just got one i hope
I have the same problem with mine when I'm doing stick welding!!!
This is why I got the 205
Just got a retriever last week, only its mounted on a 1971 International Loadstar 1700 . . . lol but the truck works, however the retriever was never hooked up, it sat in a field for years, till I got it now I have to replace all of the hydraulic lines but seems to be in decent shape. Look forward to seeing where you take your retriever and what mods you do to it!
WELL, DUH !
Lol did the same thing back in 1995 with an Rx-7
Gotta teach these new dogs old tricks🤙🏻
Went to my machine and mimicked your situation, did exactly what yours is doing I plugged in my ground and stinger and well wouldn’t you know it, it started to work again ( did that test for all processes with same result ) 😊
Ya when the machine works when that message appears you plug in and you’re good to go, when your machine is broken like mine it doesn’t matter what you plug in it doesn’t work. Surely you don’t think the Esab repair tech didn’t think of this-
Get er done...

Thanks man, saved me the hassle of trying to find a tool, the ones the clutch kits provide are shit and don’t line up shit
Tool costs around 130usd and has everything (SAC toolkit). It's insane what you get for it.

I guess if you think it’s a POS that’s why you also think it’s a Cadillac Birmingham. Oh brother…
Ya I’m not a Cadillac fan- unless it’s pink Cadillac with Clint Eastwood 🤙🏻
Back in my day we used real welding machines Lincoln electric Cracker Jack boxes and a few miller welder generators, never had an major or unrepairable issue in 30 years…
this seems the best way to go tear down the walls to see the damage but not sure how to do it with no were to go , can't afford house payment and rent not sure how this will work but the thought of them coming in and drilling holes in the walls and spraying foam ...well I just don't like it I see a lot of people doing it that way but seems to me it would be hard to kill them all.
Spraying foam or even pesticides won’t fix the damage- it’s gotta get replaced at some point. 👍🏻
What a nightmare!
Get A Fronius
We had so much problems with the new machines from fronius defnetly dont reccomend
Clean your fucking machine once in a while and it might work, just a thought.
Check the rest of the comments before you suggest something that has already been discussed- middle of the job is why it looks that way and the inside was absolutely immaculate- not a bit of dust or debris inside -
