Haha..brings back memories!! We used to train on STOL aircraft when in the National Cadet Corps, with visual circling and circuit pattern limited to the south of the field owing to military traffic in the area. Thankfully, that motorway did'nt happen to exist when we flew there back in 2010. Although it serves to speed up road traffic heading North towards the Bangalore Intl airport(VOBL), it was indeed quite puzzling to see that come up, considering the 09 Threshold would get displaced to nearly one-half the runway length..

There is a displaced threshold half way up the runway... due to the motorway on the end of the runway... touchdown point is correct; though it may look like touching down on the far end threshold!

Also as below, thanks for this - am planning to transit SS zone soon and this was of great benefit!

Heathrow SVFR done many times in the past; now routes for standard student navigation have changed.... So Gatwick and Stansted and Luton airspace are flown through. Awaiting the Boris Island airport to fly through in the next ten years??!

....Beginning to think you guys have a 'thing' about Gatwick after you last escapade ! Whats the cost of hangarage there :~)) You'll be pushing for a S/VFR through Heathrow next ...yes ??
