Ivey's Wall - Bruce Guthro
Bruce Guthro wrote this song after learning on the way to his uncle Ivey's funeral that this wall was where the boys from the local rail car plant hung out, rolled smokes and solved the world's problems.

A Matt Andersen studio version of John Denver's "Country Roads".
Love the harmony on this - serious version!!! Really turns it into a beast.
Love you Gord. RIP. Nobody did it better
I kind of prefer the softer vocal tone on this one
And the guitar tone But the officially released one is pretty good as well
Love the The Hip
Keep doing what you love. Choose an instrument and make music. New fan and new sub. Big Like and Listen to the End. 🤠😎😊🎙🎶🎵🎼🎸👍Keep playing and keep posting.
The summer doesn't seem the same without a new hip song, or tour......thank you for this, it's a truly amazing song
Just heard this on the radio at work, and my radio was loud, I like the song!
Thank you
Why I hope I go to his heaven.........it so doesn't have loss!!!
What did you do?
They only today actually release this song
Lyrics: What's the deal with your dad? He don't even know my name Didn't know he'd be back Didn't know he'd be mad No one stayed to share the blame I didn't mean to do that She won't even come around Every time I look back Didn't realize that I was better off than now Mothers came and cried for Abel Brother Cain survived the century's end All the time that I thought was my friend Be all right till we get back again Heaven knows you are right (and they will never drag you down) And they will never drag you down (there ain't time to lose sight) There ain't time to lose sight Getting lost in the light Is more than never being found Mothers came and cried for Abel Brother Cain survived the century's end All the time that I thought was my friend Be all right till we get back again I never could go back (and I could never leave my home) And I could never leave my home (and why'd they change a face like that?) And why'd they change a face like that? If I'd never seen ya I could always dream that I'd be better off alone Mothers came and cried for Abel Brother Cain survived the century's end All the time that I thought was my friend Be all right till we get back again Be all right till we get back again Be all right till we get back again
Groovy
Never really cared for this song, Then Matt Anderson does a cover and I love it.
Miss Gord
TiTs.
Used to play this track in my HS band. From the concert video
One of their very best. Thanks Gord
Hey, folks. I have a lot of subscribers. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in a sleep podcast. I have a very low, soothing voice and I am trying to help people fall asleep. How many, if any, would like to see some content like that? This is a sister account.
R.I.P
damn... that was a good tune! <3
Take a bow young man, you have a beautiful voice, keep the world happy keep singing.
#DEEPER THAN THE EARS
Be happy you found this gem! It should be on regular rotation for true Hip fans.
During the Fully Completely tour, I saw the Hip live at Massey Hall. Chest pressed against the stage, I remember Gord clowning with some Groucho glasses that had been thrown onstage. I remember screaming "Get Back Again!" at the top of my lungs during every lull in the music... Later, at the first night of Another Roadside Attraction in Markham Fairgrounds, I hollered "Get Back Again" over and over, this time from about 30m from the stage. The next day, 2nd night of Roadside, When The Hip broke into Get Back Again, I swear, in my heart, they were playing it for me. I'll never forget singing and dancing to this song in the pit surrounded by thousands of revelling Hip fans. I just want to thank the band for that. For that moment. For that song. It's etched in my memory. Thanks Gord (the good Gord up above), Paul, Gord, Bobby and Johnny. Effing brilliant, guys.
I was there in Markham. Didn't know what this song was but hearing it now, it's quite good. thanks for being the impetus to me hearing it live that night 🙂
I would love to hear Matt Anderson sing old man
Superb job. 👍
Jerry michaud boy Canada
I love this man so much.
Haunting, I'm crying.
I’ve been a Hip fan since the beginning. Thanks to Bill Baker, I now know I was at the last show this song was performed. I was at the Kingston 95 show. For some reason I took the sweatshirt I bought at the show and had “Kingston 95” embroidered 0n it. It now has more meaning for me. Thanks Bill
Amazing that this quality of recording is out there! I’d love a digitally remastered version of the early early stuff. All the tracks from the Vancouver ‘86 recording. Anyway, you uploaded a gem. Thanks
Love this Good one gordy
This is the version I compare all others, including Bill Withers’s brilliant original. I like blues with a hard edge.
I'm only new to his music but this doesn't sound like his voice at all
Now I've been listening to the good tunes since I could fall asleep under the old beilards table and this takes me bk 30 years amazing singinger will never give up on this guy!!!!
Best song
This song came on as my father was passing away. Beautifully done by Matt! Thank you brother!
Sorry for your loss.
I am a HUGE hip fan, i am so sad this song isnt on an album. Could be one of the best songs they wrote! Absolutely love this gem!!
I miss you gord ❤️
As one that was “never being found...” I’m ever so grateful for this morsel of goodness & truth. Thank you Gords- Sinclair & Downie. 🥰
Arguably one of the very BEST TTH songs. Not arguing tho. Just typing. #gorddownie4EVAH
I would like to hear him do a cover of Sinnerman
This guy should be headlining Glastonbury 2021.
We are here from KingsMan :D Thanks for music
My view is almost 70 k

"No one stayed to share the blame"..Poignant, but i think that's the point..Most people did the best that they could at the time ;)
I have to have a few beers and listen to this guy...this is a new found friend..wow

Matt you sir are a special talent!
