Why did the grandfather get to speak THREE times and have his questions addressed during citizen comments? No matter the subject or emotions involved, no one should be able to break the rules and change the agenda. Ms Garza had no right to ask questions of the city attorney at this time. I believe Mr Scott wanted to address a comment made by another citizen and Mayor Hughson did not allow it. So why was Garza allowed to speak and ask questions at this time? Ridiculous!

How messed up is a country that needs police in schools.

Had one school principal tell me he only wanted an officer if he/she was unarmed. Told him that was a deal breaker and that I would not assign an officer anywhere without all their issued equipment. The police chief backed me up.

I’m sorry there are much better ways to protect our children start with teachers that had the resources or children to walk through a metal detector instead of having a police officer there all schools windows should be bulletproof instead of having this police officer there all doors should be bulletproof instead of this police officer there. I’m sure this police officer is a fine person, , but if a child has a bad day, this police officer is going to protect himself. The object is to keep guns out of schools, not change the environment with an armed police officer, walking the halls😢

That timer must be essential to be featured like that when speakers are on Zoom. The timer on the screen is four times the window of both the speaker and the shot of the chambers. It must be more important to city staff to show the timer on the screen. One would think the viewers of the video would rather see the elected officials and the ex managment team. This is rather interesting....

You forgot to mention city staff spent 88K to conduct a "compensation study" to give them selves over FOUR MILLION dollars in raises. And, the report overlooks the citizens that spoke against the budget as well as the outrage on social media. Again, city is exemplar at being spin doctors.

The public has a right to see the entire Dias when there are speakers on zoom. It looks odd that a timer is featured versus the city staff and the elected officials. This is very disappointing that the city of San Marcos thinks a timer is more important than the paid city staff and the elected officials in recording its meetings. Maybe you will figure it out after you roll out your 4.4 million dollars in raises.
