Alright, after browsing for a while, I didn’t find anyone who could explain the context behind this song....so First, this song takes place in 80-90s after the "Great Economic Reform" in the 80s. before that, the working class and workers were respected by the pop, national welfare, and the government was responsible for allocating housing resources for them. In this environment, the working class had a lofty sense of responsibility, proud of their identities and country. As for the state enterprises, they also shouldered the responsibility of social development, although materially not abundant spiritually it achieved a harmonious society. However, this beautiful proletarian society vanished when we come to the 90s. During the new policies related to the great reform, many state enterprises were forced, but also caused thousands of unemployed and most are working class. Not only did they lose their financial resources, but they also lost their ideals and responsibilities. Those “capital newborns” who used the money to make money replaced the noble ones.
