@@kinglyoko6683 I definitely see what you’re saying and Ill admit that rules regarding China might need some changing. Though i will say that as far as nations being on par you see the same thing in Axis and Allies with Italy. They were not the best army in the war and yet they are placed on par with everyone else in the game.

@@kinglyoko6683 correct Soviet pilots were active early, but the earliest encounter I’ve read of UN planes engaging MiGs was around Jan 1951 so that’s why I placed their implantation into the game around that point in the calendar, but you do raise a good point and I’ll definitely consider moving them up a turn so they come in around Nov/Dec of 1950

@@CaptainG9318 I was very happy when I found those on HBG. Granted they don’t have all the infantry divisions, and I made makeshift ones but I love having them and they make giving the updates fun. Yeah the dice have not been fairing well for the Americans and their Allies this game

@@CaptainG9318 Yeah not having any jets in the game seemed off since Korea was the first real jet war. And it’ll be interesting to see how this variable entrance goes, but at least the Chinese will have a better chance of coming into the game than not at all like the last one, hahaha

@@CaptainG9318 thank you! I’m glad you are enjoying it. For the longest time I was doing turn overviews by memory which definitely has its draw backs. The added rule customizations have definitely quicken the pace of the game. Hopefully, won’t have to make too many more customizations once this play through is done.

I am having far more fun playing communits this time. Far more movement.

@@kinglyoko6683 yes the action is definitely better than the first game. I definitely plan to publish a PDF of this ruleset once we finish this play through. Will probably make one or two adjustments, but overall it’s been working out well.

Yeah I was thinking about doing Blitzing through green zones. It’s definitely worth it, and the nice part is that with map you could adapt other time periods into it as well. Like I remember reading a book about a Second Korean War in like 1988, Red Phoenix, I think it was called, so you could build a game using GW85 units and play a more modern version of a Korean War as well.

I usually give Red Phoenix a read through at least once a year. Yeah I know some people have difficulty with it since it’s an old PDF file. Thank you! It should be a good time, and yes it will fun to have a rematch soon

Thanks for posting the game play. I agree it all certainly looks fun albeit with some broken rules. It seems China ought to have an automatic entry at some point if not triggered. The submarine rule did seem odd. We don't think about sub warfare in Korea. Adding jet fighters for sure. Maybe adding some of HBG's terrain markers can still incorporate blitz maneuvers in flat terrain. Again, interesting game.

Thank you! I love having the U.S. divisions and they definitely help bring flare to the game and the turn updates. Hoping one day HBG will do stuff for the other nations like Britain. I know they have some Canadian and other small faction division roundels.

Yeah I love using the U.S. division markers. I also Army, and Naval Markers as well. The new U.S. pieces from HBG are really well done too

@@tiraflechas6817 this is Axis and Allies Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940. Basically they are two separate games that you can combine and make into one giant game.

I like the concept as well and that tanks can do it as well, but they hit on a 1.

Yes they like to use it for their own videos, lol. Yes the Allies could do an Inchon and I’m still considering it, but Airsoft commando seems to be adopting the strategy of digging in and preparing to counter any invasion in launch. As long as he hold more territory than I do at the end of turn 12, he wins.

I’m thinking more about shorting the supply tracker to where it only takes 1 or 2 turns for the reinforcements to enter the game

@@redbulltanker194 But with the overall movement limitations of units, you really need to have the game last longer, or else you can't get the back and forth that occurred historically.

@@kinglyoko6683 that is true as well. Definitely looking into possibly having a terrain rule where in the green zones armor can blitz and in the brown areas they cannot.

I definitely plan to do a rule update. But wanted to try it at least once with the original rules and see what works and what doesn’t.

For this play through if you watch on it hasn’t been too terrible for the Soviets or Britain, but in hindsight it could be.

It’s all good. Schedules haven’t been aligning so there has been a pause

Yea, seeing an Iralin fleet that big is quite rare, now players might even want to play italy!

@@phillipschwab6691 for the most part all the extra pieces and the map are bought at www.historicalboardgaming.com You can buy all kinds of pieces and army markers there from all different kinds of eras. The Airplane plans are a DIY thing I did using magnets, screws and different kinds of stuff for the base. As for stats for the other units. Jets are the same as if you unlocked Jets in 1940. Self-Propelled guns have the same stats as Artillery, but just that they can move 2 spaces, and support 2 infantry instead of just 1. And then the U.S. jet bomber can move 1 space farther than regular bombers.

@@CaptainG9318 it’s been fun, but NATO might have started out a little stronger in numbers than they actually were in 1951, lol. Might have to do a minor adjustment for next time.

This is my own custom version myself and a friend have been working on for few years now. After this test I’ll be posting the rules, setups and other stuff on one of the Axis and Allies Facebook groups. I’ll be posting a vid along with the link to the group so people can find it.

The Hot War was a more recent one. Overall it is good, there were some historically takes he took that I wasn’t sure about, and the third book drags near the end but again it’s a good one

We’re trying to decide how to do that. We don’t have a printing facility so If anything it would be selling the PDF file for the map and this accompany documents and then you’d have to go to a local print shop and get it printed.

But like I said at the end, we also have a version of this game that can be played on the Axis and Allies Global 1940 map as well

@@redbulltanker194 yeah unless you have a printer it would be tough to take orders and go to a print shop also same end result. The custom map would be worth it to buy the pdf and rules. I will follow you and see where you go with this. Excellent job coming up with this variant

This is a custom version myself and a friend are working on. We have 2 working versions of it, one on this custom and one that can be played using the regular G40 map. We’re still playing testing both versions right now but will eventually post this map file and both rule sets.
