7:20 am, 3 September 24. What you're looking at is the original Stage Coach route from the 1800's. This area sees massive amounts of seasonal runoff during storms and after a heavy snow. It's also a Beautiful drive in the springtime. Old Kern County, the old west. There are still parts left.

7:40am 3 September 24. Not a lot to say other than this was the Stage Coach route back in the day. The roads you see were original to the stagecoach lines. This is also a very popular road for cyclists, 1000' of elevation change over the length of this road.

The 1908 powerhouse here was added onto in the 90s with a second unit downstream that's fed via an above-ground water channel. When the powerhouse is not. in use, they divert the water out on the side of the mouth of the canyon. It makes for a spectacular waterfall.
