I just saw a video of y'all's show for the first time last week! It was absolutely amazing-I love how the music was implemented in the show. And y'all's performance was *ridiculously* good. Thanks for coming to check out the OG piece!

Lol-I had been exposed to a little bit of music by both of them in the year that I wrote this, so perhaps they bore some subconscious influence!

Lol-I was not a part of that decision but I 100% approve of it! The Eb’s “laser beam” timbre in the high register really helps makes that note pop above the whole ensemble!

Itz Broski Hey man, thank you so much! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the piece and that you’re excited to play it! Are you from Cy-Fair High School? Also, yes tubas!! My older brother was a tuba player in middle/high school, so I always try to write really great tuba parts!

@@harrisonjcollins Thats nice to hear. I always seem to find myself playing boring tuba parts but this one actually has me intrigued. Also, yes i am from Cy-Fair High School. Our top band got the chance to perform at the Midwest Clinic. Im in the second best band.

@@BroskiOfficial Nice! I was there for the top band's performance- they played very well. At one point, they planned on playing The Paper Man for that concert but unfortunately had to cut it from the program. I am SO excited that you and the second band will be performing the work!

@@harrisonjcollins Yea i think one of my friends from our top band said that they were going to play it and cut it out. I wouldnt understand why though because this peice is actually outstanding. Although im at least happy that i get to play such a peice of art made by a young brilliant mind like you. Much props to you brother.

That's awesome! I have been composing for four years- I began when I was 14.

Who are some of your favorite composers??

My very first favorite composer (who inspired me to begin composing) was Todd Stalter. Since then, I have found many, many, many more favorite composers. Some of them are John Mackey, Michael Markowski, Frank Ticheli, Steven Bryant, Eric Whitacre, Adam Schoenberg, Jonathan Newman, and Julie Giroux.

Noah Camuso Thank you so much for your kind words! My advice is to study, study, study. Find music you like and listen to it over and over. Read the score (you might be surprised how many can easily be found online). Analyze it, and see how composers make things sound the way they do. Expand your compositional toolbox, and then use those tools to write the best music you can. Once you’ve done that, repeat the process!
