Have a couple older hemi's laying around
LaMawn? Never heard of it.
Ok, so you explained what hemi means but you didn't give up the goodies.
There are no secrets. It's a hemispherical combustion chamber. It's not a secret. Definitely isn't anymore
My kingdom for this car.
Hello, "612 MOTORSPORTS" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or ig or where?
Those heads have canted valves and are not true hemispherical combustion chambers ! Still very cool heads for a SBC .
❤to find one and redesign the suspension, give it a motor swap with a Honda engine 😅
Hemi and pent roof are not the same
Pain in my ass that sometimes itch and bleed
Forgot the legendary performance. However I did not, still have my" hemi". Famous1957 392 chrysler hemi engine with pushbutton Transmission .
*too
It is indeed, a very pretty brick.
Is that why? Carol Shelby's personal Cobra Daytona had twin paxtons? Like the coop he built for Cosby
You are wrong about the cobra a 100% Shelby himself said the top speed was regulated my the aerodynamics and they changed just the body and built the Daytona cobra coupe and that car hit speeds around 190 mph. With the same chassis. And they only built 4 Daytona bodies they still meet homologation. Now the little cobra weighs about 2000 pounds and had engines like 298, 390 and the 427. Now the Ford Gt 40 had the 255, 298, 302 and the 427 and that car hit speeds around 200 mph and weight around 1800 to 2300 pounds depending on the engine. And the Ferrari 330 P3 weighs around 1800 pounds if weight was a factor why did Ferrari lose and why have they never won a 24 Le Mans race again? Oh the daytona weights 2300 pounds and hit 196 on the Mulsanna straight in road trim on at least Mans. Shelby said no matter how much power the cobra roadster has it was around 150 to 160 mph car it would just break loose the back tires. Now factory five is changing some aerodynamic because in the U.S if a part doesn’t fit 100% in the same mold it is not the same legally. So please do research on stuff before you shit talk.
Dirty Bubble? Thought it was called the Gurney Bubble? He was 6'4". History. Can you do request vids? I think a Gurney or A.J. Foyt Ford/Cosworth engine and Gurney cylinder heads would be cool.
Oh boy here we go. The capital "H" thing I disagree with. HEMI is now a engine logo for Chrysler's Hemi engine. It's like the Ford emblem is called the "Blue Oval". They are not the only ones or first to do so. The given name for the head design is hemispheric in shape and "hemispherical chamber" is the description of the area the domed shape piston comes into(compression/exhaust strokes) just like the wedge chamber heads. Why Chrysler chose to use the chamber designs to name their engines is in the copyrights. Though I feel it to be overstepping a bit. If I explained how a lung functions I'm not going name it the "Ed Lung" then charge billions to use it.
One of the Greatest MOTORS Ever MADE BAR NONE 💯💯🎯🎯🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲👍👍👍🎯🇺🇲
Not real hemis
Favorite car a 1970 Dodge Cornet Super Bee 440ci
Hemisphereical
I dont know why ford was tagged in this. Shelby designed this car using ford engines, yes but ford was not directly involved for quite a while after this car was made.
"Quite a while" is quite generous. Shelby partnered with Ford more officially only a few years later.
In 88 if they would have put the 3800 v6 in it it would have been a great sports car ,
A "hemi" with a capitol "H" is a pain in the A.
Junk they don't last
What year u from?
Yea the big 3 have become horrible engine builders as of late. He k they even make a 70k SUV that they know will blow. Cylinder deactivation.
Through that whole explanation i was just waiting for him to finally say the.word "hemispherical" 😂
But he still made a Le Mons winning car
It means boat anchor
Huh ? Low knowledge?
I always thought it was short for hemispherical combustion chamber, because the greatest hemispherical combustion chamber engine ever built was a Toyota 4 liter V8 single overhead cam. The engine had power ratings from as low as 180 all the way up to 500 horsepower net.
I remember when an american car lasted a lifetime. I still have my great great grandfathers 1928 model A, granpas 1969 camaro, my fathers 1970 new yorker all running still without problems.
It was aerodynamics. Not weight. The Daytona Coupe was built on a Cobra chassis. It was probably heavier due to a more elaborate body. The Cobra was as aerodynamic as a "brick".
exactly. Calling it a brick was not a comment on its weight but rather its aerodynamics. As bricks have a very poor aerodynamic coefficient.
While EVs do have normal breaks, they are seldom used because of regeneration. This means that EV breaks are lifetime and dust from them is minimal.
My sister sued GM over this lemon
Close but no cigar. Stands for hemispherical combustion chamber. Which the head was half of.
😂
It’s Kasse, & Kuntz, maybe get the peoples names right! I’m pretty sure hammerhead is out of business!
My old man had one and said it was one of the best cars he ever owned. He had it 7 years and only put tires and a battery in it.
Too not To <sigh>
Leman 😂😂😂
Old tech.
Not a problem any more with EVs.
No, and removing your brain also removes the risk of brain cancer.... but will increase your risk of buying an EV.
😂😂😂
@@lrod312 Regenerative breaking minimizes the need to friction break EVs wear through tires much faster
Alero, not aurora
All in all with mistakes made, thanks for not being an ai robot.
I often wonder about all the low water crossings over rivers, all the break dust that is pushed off the rotor and into the water stream.
Except its a LS4...
#8 was a Alero
Pontiac Grand Prix GXP has a Chevrolet 5.3-liter LS V8 engine, not the Cadillac Northstar as you stated.
I always liked the grand prix. Jersey streets were packed with them circa 2013
The problems with the Riviera you mention were also present in my 92 Lumina. You had to disconnect an engine mount and roll the engine forward to get to 3 of the spark plugs. It also broke the timing chain and fragged a couple valves at one point. I fixed it and kept driving it until it rusted out too much, at which point I replaced it with a 96 S10 pickup (loved that thing too) Yes, gear heads are sometimes a little silly. lol
Yeah, my family owned a Century also.... It ran well, and was very boring.
Aw, poor Vega. All the things you said are true, but despite all of this, the Vega has a rich hot rodding history. (I also have a soft spot for them because I still own one. Hehe)
OK, I have also owned a Lumina Euro Sport and a Chevy Avalanche, and I loved them too.
