Sir, your ignorance is showing. You sound like someone who hasn’t travelled much outside of the U.S.A. If you travelled to France people would speak to you only in French. Same goes in Italy, Japan, etc. You’d do yourself a big favour by learning a little of the local language next time you travelled abroad. Nobody’s gonna roll out the carpet for you in any county just coz you’re American… quite the opposite actually. And of course there’s nothing to do during a lockdown… I’d be concerned if there was!

Great Video! You are 100% correct that you always have to think about information you put out there publically. We always delay publishing any travel plans or videos until after the travel is complete. That includes Instagram or FB post while you are traveling. That way you are not advertising that your home is vacant. On the other topic I agree that many social media people are in it for the attention, but not everyone. To be 100% honest we are in social media for two reasons. First is to show others that you can do what we are doing and inspire people to follow their dreams. We are never fake in our videos. It should be obvious that we never do hair and makeup or read a script, we just pull out the camera and show you what is going on with our adventure. We feel good knowing that we have inspired some people to take a leap and follow their dreams. The second reason we have the channel is to build an additional stream of income. It is work to produce videos every week and it is basically a job where we can be our own boss and make a little money. Right now it is a very little stream, but it is slowly growing. Lastly, some of us still answer every comment, DM, and Messenger contact and have met many of our viewers in person. Keep up the good work and have fun on your trip! Let us know all about it AFTER you return home.😉

Wow, this is your most popular video, but it is your worst by far!!! Mérida has ALWAYS been HOT, but there are tons of African American who live there that I now know, and they love it! You cannot go to another country and expect them to adapt to you, that is insane. We get mad when people don't speak English is America! Do not mention Thailand without video because they see you as Expat$$$, too - ALL countries do. However, all that goes away when you at least try to understand their culture and speak their language, just like in America. You are not a Passport Bro, because they know better. Some places aren't for everyone so it's always good to hear a honest good and bad perspective. I'm from the South love the heat and the food in Mexico. I just traveled back to Cancun last month. I wanted to visit Merida just to get my own perspective but the drive was about 3 hours. I couldn't fit it into my itinerary. It's grown so much in popularity I wanted to see if the hype was real. I also wouldn't mind living off the grid so to speak. It works for me but not for everyone we're all different. Also it's a shame nowadays you can't have an opinion about anything especially if it a difference of opinion. Thanks again for sharing.

Actually those capsule hotels I have seen in vids from Tokyo look pretty cool, they include EVERYTHING including food, drinks, booze, relaxation rooms, all the toiletries & amenities you'd ever need, robes, slippers, storage, laundry, etc. for about $25-$40 per night. Folks just remember, Mexico is NOT the US. Our culture is way different and its not for all. Merida is still a very tiny town. Some people will adjust, but many wont. That is the reality.

Thank you for your honesty. I have to agree that generally RUclipsrs seem to paint a fairy tale image of Merida and it is misleading. I have been here for over two weeks and it took me one week to recover from the disappointment I was feeling. I had a lot of confidence in my ability to speak Spanish but it quickly dissipated when I realized that their accent and fast speech is challenging to adjust to, and so any Spanish you have is only good for survival. It's not that you expect all the locals to know English. That wouldn't be fair. It's that you expect communication to be less daunting than it turns out to be. Merida has a charm of It's own, and wonderful people but I have to agree that if saving money is your intention for moving here, you might be sorely disappointed. I was hoping to get new glasses but I was told I won't save any money if I try to get an English-speaking optometrist. I thought the opposite would be the case. Without Spanish, you feel like you're more likely to be overcharged. Not all locals are like that but you need to know who you can trust and that is tough to know.

I don't want to go to any place where English isn't the primary language. There are still cheaper states in America to go to, so leaving America for cheaper living is unnecessary in my opinion, and are just walking into traps to be ripped off in other countries.
