MRE MAIN MEAL REVIEW: GRILLED JALAPENO PEPPER JACK FLAVORED BEEF PATTY #survivalfood
A MRE review is like a trip review of the maiden voyage of the Titanic: You know it's going to be bad, but you want to hear details. Old Soldier has eaten far too many MREs and taking one for the team, ate one more.

@carolyncoolidge8116 1. Actually, the food did not run out. 2. In this case, Red fish.
@@OLDSOLDIER6oh, thank you
Awesome
Here in UT I currently get magtech for $12 after tax. Roughly $2 of saving per 50 rounds is not worth it in my opinion. I would rather save bigger margins with my time for some of my other calibers such as 44 mag, 30-06, 7.62x54, 30-40 Krag etc. some of these going as much as $1-$2.50 per round.
Your opinion is as valid as anyone's.
I do not want to know how you know the difference between chicken ass!
It's raining because you wore that paratrooper shirt! I'm going to head into the Berkshires next month for a couple days. That's beautiful countryside out there buddy!
@@Fredburg4485 If it ain't raining, it ain't training! Enjoy the Berkshires!
As far as I can research the difference between 5.56 and 223 is the seating depth of the bullet which will effect pressure which 5.56 is a bit higher. Also all military cartridges use magnum primers to ensure proper ignition in all weather conditions
Is that 762x 39😅?
It is
Cool 😎
Looks like your muzzle brake has started to come loose, same with the cleaning rod. Just fyi so you don't lose them.
@@michael4918 Muzzle brake is pinned. Cleaning rod is loose.

I thought it waa weird too when i bought it but it shoots just fine.@thomasjefferson4662

Depends on when you bought all of your supplies. In my case I have powder & bullets from back in 2018. Time to reload is a relaxation for me, I'm Retired.
@@GShileikis Me too. It's great.
Is is a survival book?
@@HydroFact26 It's a story about survival during the zombie apocalypse. (It's a novel.)
@OLDSOLDIER6 ok nice! Thank you
@HydroFact26 it's a novel with accurate descriptions of firearms, gear and tactics.
I took my ACOG off & refitted. It was a mile off zero!!! Very surprised as I'd marked the mount position etc.
I've had that experience. Better to check zero after remounting.
Is this a Spam museum?
It's the Spam museum in Austin, Minnesota
I carried spam with me as a supplement to rations. The smell of spam and eggs cooking today is a reminder of my time in the Army. I enjoy spam still today
@@ltcavret7574 😋 I like to keep a tin or two of SPAM in my pantry too.
Long shelf life, calorie dense, it's good to keep a little on hand.
Funny house certain smells bring back memories especially memories from time in the service
SPAM. Special Processed American Meat 🇺🇲😊🇺🇲
@@patpeters6331 Not spiced ham?
@@OLDSOLDIER6 Sorry No. I won a trivia contest years ago by researching what the S.P.A.M. stood for. Of all the questions I researched that's the only one that stuck. 🤭
@patpeters6331 The Spam museum disagrees with you.
My Uncle ate SPAM for 96 days straight in Europe, while Ike, and Montgomery ate steaks, pork chops, and meatloaf. In the 1970s my Mom tried to make so Spam for breakfast and my Uncle wanted to kill her from all the bad memories that came rushing back in. Fuck SPAM, and fuck any officer who doesn't eat what his men eat!

I commented on your pack video. I'm also interested in what pack you would wear over this LBE? Any? All?
I wore a large Alice rucksack and the Lowe Vector a lot over LBE. Both the Eagle assault pack and the Becker patrol pack would work well. Never used or though of using any of the others with LBE.
I really enjoyed your walkthrough of all the packs that you've collected through your career and recreation. How did you resolve ALICE gear and pack both competing for space on your waist? Did you drop the web gear lower when rucking? Dod you wear it low all the time? Did you just not use the pack belt?
I usually resolved that issue by wearmy web gear low, as you stated.
dang, that back mounting bolt is loose!!!!!!
It was way loose. I had to move, so it's in a box now.
Nice 🫡
Good to see you back!
Good to be back!
I don't own guns but I know Hallow Points are harder to remove because the tip shatters into smaller pieces you might have to get a metal detector
Actually the hollow points allow the projectile (bullet) to expand to create a larger penetrating cavity. It is possible for hollow points to fragment, but that's also possible with FMJ.
@@OLDSOLDIER6 👍
Hard people last a very long time
some people go soft after a few minutes
Not what I'm talking about.
I'm veary hard but the military sucks. maby kill less people
I use ammoseek to find good ammo deals. Circa July 2024, 223/5.56 can be found between $0.35 - $0.40 a round, making the cost savings nonexistent unless you're reloading specifically for match grade accuracy. Reloading may make more sense for larger calibers or during price spikes due to ammo shortages. That being said, reloading supplies became scarce during the last ammo shortage so even that may be an invalid argument. You should reload because you enjoy it, not to save money.
It's more economical and it is a hobby in and of itself. My personal opinion is that careful reloading makes you a better shooter. Just my opinion.
Very cool. I want one. Did you install it yourself?
I did not. I wish I could say I was that competent of a mechanic, but I'm not.
Why are you not disclosing your grain?
Liability , what works for someone in a new firearm can destroy an old worn one. Break open a reloading manual and you can get it figured out with a ladder test.
This.
They have the worst customer service.
Never needed their customer service, which somewhat speaks to their quality. But if that was your experience, I appreciate you sharing.
Zippo sells a great little travel refill container that also has a spare flint. It carries several refills of fluid. I hate bic lighters for outdoor use. They blowout in the wind. Don’t work in cold temps or high altitudes and you can’t light it and take your thumb off. My bushcraft lighter is a zippo and the keychain refill kit.
That is good info on the travel refill container kit.
Lithium should be discharged to 40% for storage.
@@NoBug404 You are correct. The manual states for best longevity to keep battery stored long term between 40 and 60 percent.
That is all it's good for 👍
🤣🤣👏👏
Whoops
I appreciate the review. Thanks for sharing. I agree, the dry bag is a good idea. Do you recall what size the sea to summit bag is? I think I'll pick one up for my mountain serape.
I believe it's the 20 litre
@@OLDSOLDIER6 Thank you very much
No worries. Thanks for watching!
By any chance did you plant any potatoes?
No potatoes this go around.
It only makes sense when NYS adds a background check fee on every single purchase of a box of cartridges. Skip the silly fee by reloading, but it costs the same.
Personally, I feel a background check for ammunition is nonsense, but you're entitled to your opinion.
If you enjoy thrillers/action adventure novels, please check out my buddy's Pete Crittenden latest work" Drowning Creek". It's great mind candy.
I can't wait to improve the design of something like this on my own sewing machine.
Making your own modifications to your own needs is always (mostly) a good idea.
