The timing of when you will hear back with the outcome of your application will depend on the application cycle you have applied for. Cycle 1 applicants (courses starting in July-October) : July of the year of award. Cycle 2 applicants (courses starting in January-February): October prior to the start of award. METI Government Japan scholarships provide financial support that covers living expenses and sometimes travel costs. Therefore, you usually do not need additional money for the internship itself.The guidelines for METI internships usually do not permit participants to engage in paid work outside of the internship program.
